Chang Shuzeng was once a cardiologist, but he always had a mechanical dream. He often mentioned a dream he had, and the scenes in the dream were as vivid and vivid as real life. It was one day in 2002. Chang Shuzeng dreamed that he had produced the most advanced drone engine. He woke up and on the two unrelated roads of medicine and machinery, he decisively turned around and chose his mechanical dream.
professional drone engines have long been subject to the trade barriers of developed countries due to their special civil and military status. Chang Shuzeng believes that the engine of a drone is equivalent to the heart of a human, and the key technologies cannot always be controlled by others. He decided to develop a "Chinese heart" for the drone.
"I didn't make money in the past few years, it doesn't matter, we have made our technology solid." Chang Shuzeng led the team to study hard and innovate continuously. He also experienced countless failures on the way to grow and grow, but no one shouted to quit. "Find the cause of failure, integrate the spirit of craftsmanship into every process, and make products with soul." This is Chang Shuzeng's requirement for himself and his team. In 2012, the drone engines they produced were exported to 26 countries and 123 cities, gradually becoming the industry leader.
Chang Shuzeng compares the engine to be a human heart not only because of its importance, but also because the engine is very tightly composed. It consists of more than 400 accessories, with the accuracy of the accessories being controlled between one percent and one thousandth of a millimeter. 90% of accessories rely on independent research and development and production, and they carefully cultivate cold steel and aluminum as hot lives. The team developed an engine that can be called the "marathon champion" with a battery life of 1-15 hours and a flight altitude of 10-6,000 meters. It can work in a low temperature environment of minus 40 degrees Celsius. It completed surveying and mapping at high altitudes and went on a battle with the Antarctic scientific expedition team to successfully complete the scientific expedition task.
In October 2016, in order to find a material with high hardness and wear resistance, Chang Shuzeng worked for more than 20 hours in continuous testing and experimentation. Because of excessive tension, I fainted at 4 pm the next day. My colleague helped me to a nearby clinic for treatment. The doctor was shocked after testing my blood pressure. The hypotension was as high as 130 and the high pressure was 140, and there was almost no pressure difference. After 4 hours of rest and needle-reducing treatment, there was no danger. The doctor repeatedly told me to take more rest, but in order to produce a reliable engine, I continued to work the next day.
Chang Shuzeng said that he devoted 99% of his energy to entrepreneurship without regrets, but he felt guilty that he did not have time to spend with his family, and he could not even remember how old his children were. At the recording site of the program, when the host asked if he would go home to see the child after the recording, Chang Shuzeng was speechless again. He said that he was busy with business, so try his best.
Chang Shuzeng has been committed to the research and development of drone engines for more than 20 years, mastered stable and reliable production processes, and successfully built the only production line for the entire engine process in China. More than 30 types of civilian, military drone supporting engines have been produced, which are suitable for helicopters, fixed wings, multi-rotors and other drone models. Among them, hybrid engines, light water-cooled engines, and small start-up integrated engines are the industry's leading characteristic products.
At present, Chang Shuzeng presided over more than 30 R&D patents and was invited to participate in the formulation of the standard for the GJB of the National Military Standard Aviation Piston Engine. He is the only representative of a private engine enterprise participating in the formulation of this standard.Chang Shuzeng is determined to be a world-class engine, allowing the drone to fly under the blue sky with a strong "Chinese heart".
