came out of the subway station and walked about 500 meters to Hubei Dongmen Meat and Vegetable Market.
is only one street separated from the famous Dongmen Pedestrian Street, but it looks like two worlds.
If you stand at a high place, it is a dilapidated village surrounded by various innovative high-rise buildings, which seems a bit out of place, but it is one of the most fireworks check-in places in Shenzhen.
April 1st is the last day of the existence of the old Dongmen market!

Goodbye, Shenzhen’s “vegetable basket”
was actually previewed for demolition here 3 years ago, but it is inevitable that people will feel reluctant and sigh.
When I was young, my family and I lived here. Dongmen Market is a must-pass place every day. It is bustling from day to night and is very lively.
In mid-March this year, the Dongmen Vegetable Market Management Office issued a notice: The contracts for the first and second floors expire at the end of December 2018 and will not be renewed. The management party will take back the business site and demolish it, and all merchants will move out before the end of the month.
Say goodbye, so unexpected.
A friend who still lives here told me that although this place is surrounded by iron, every time I pass by, I can't help looking inside. It was a wonderful time he had in his childhood.
The people in the middle of the road are still busy, pushing carts and moving goods.
Although it is not bright enough and even a little dirty, it is where the "dream" of the previous generation began.
Many people come from their hometowns and run small stalls here, selling seafood, dry goods, and specialties. They get up early and go to bed late every day, and use their hardworking sweat to support the lives of the whole family.
The children here will help their parents keep the stalls in their spare time and will also play between stalls. The huge Dongmen Market was too much like a maze for me when I was a child. I liked to shuttle between floors, but I was afraid that I could not find the direction.
Now here, the building is empty, and only the fabric market next to it is still open.
When we went up to see it, many stores were resting and closing.
There is no longer the bustling and bustle of the past, and I don’t know if it is affected by the demolition.

Silent Hubei Old Village
In my memory, there are endless long streets and alleys everywhere in Hubei Old Village. At seven o'clock every day, as the sky light spreads little by little on the brick road, various sounds gradually become louder.
The sound of motorcycles, bicycle ringing, and trailer sounds, just awaken yourself in your sleep little by little.
occasionally meets the boss selling jelly at the village entrance and the aunt selling Chaoshan snacks. When you pass by, you will greet him with a smile.
Nowadays, there is a whole long alley and two wide streets, deserted and few people come in and out.
Hubei Old Village is the last large-scale ancient Qing Dynasty village in the central district of Shenzhen. Its history is much longer than that of Shenzhen, and it has been pushed to the forefront due to demolition issues.
Now, the entire Hubei Old Village is basically no longer inhabited by Dongfang, Nanfang and Beifang...
When I was young, the incense in the aisle was very prosperous. On the 15th day of the lunar month, people prayed for blessings and burned incense during the festivals, which was lively and solemn, and that kind of scene no longer existed.
The crossed wires are aged as if they are about to break when touched. The seeds brought by the wind or birds grow on the mottled wall.
The short old building was full of garbage, and looking up, a golden tall building rose from the ground not far away.
Hubei Old Village this time, I really want to say goodbye to us.

0 Chaoshan Street, which is about to disappear, comes to the east gate. Sister Youyou recommends that you must go to Chaoshan Street, even if it will be relocated next month.
Hubei Village The essence of eating and drinking is here. Those who come here will only regret that their belly is too small and cannot hold so much delicious food.
The entire street is almost a store opened by Chaoshan people, so it is named.
fried noodles, casserole porridge , barbecue, licorice fruit ...all are all delicacies in memory.
This picture shows last year's shooting
Last year, the seafood here is still rich, and most of them have moved now. Friends who want to go there should not be a waste~
There are few shops left here now. The owner of the Red Peach Buffet said that in more than a month, the place will be demolished.
"I can't bear to leave you"
"We are the same now, we can do it every day."
People passing by are reluctant to leave when they hear it.
here Tongyuanguohui has to be mentioned. Many people who live here eat since childhood. At that time, a cup of milk tea was only 1 yuan, and a bowl of shaved ice costs 1.5 yuan to add four or five kinds of ingredients.
Although the current prices are not as good as before, they are also amazingly affordable. 6 kinds of shaved ice for 5 yuan can be added, and 10 kinds of shaved ice for 8 yuan can be added. Drizzled with jam, it is heavy and very real.
Lufeng salty tea , some people like to call it " vegetable tea ". I heard that many pregnant women here like to drink a bowl of warm salty tea when they are greedy. When I was young, my cousin was pregnant and often came here to eat a bowl.
"15 yuan per serving, do you want to add powder?"
salted tea costs 15-25 yuan per serving, dried shrimps, soybeans, peanuts, mustard greens, mushrooms, etc., more than a dozen ingredients. After adding leicha , sprinkle a layer of fried rice or flour, which makes people salivate just by looking!
Licorice fruit is a common street food in Chaoshan and is also one of the characteristics of Chaoshan.
The ingredients in licorice can be effective, clear away heat and detoxify, eliminate phlegm and relieve cough, and it is a perfect match for when paired with fruits.
Eating licorice fruit with bamboo sticks, walking around the streets, isn’t this the taste of childhood?
is about to be demolished, and the left-behind stores here will soon disappear one by one. This time may be the last time.

Hello, new market
New Dongmen Market, 100 steps ahead of the old market, the old and the new are just in a moment.
Orange decoration, brand new golden signboards, clean floor... undoubtedly makes people feel brighter.
Walking in this new vegetable market, you will see a wide range of products, showing your vitality.
Various seafood, live poultry, fruits and vegetables are arranged in an orderly manner, and the stalls are clean and tidy. The first floor sells seafood, freshwater fish and frozen products; the second floor sells vegetables, pasta pickles; the third floor sells pigs, duck, beef, sheep and fruit.
is still a familiar merchant, a familiar ingredients, and a familiar smiley face. Everything in the new market looks the same as the old market.
There is a specialty ingredients at the entrance of the stairs. Sister Youyou couldn't help but be curious and went in to find out.
cherry radish, edible flowers, mini pumpkin, and many unfamous ingredients...

really understands these residents who have been reluctant to move away for a long time.
This land accompanies them in birth and protects their growth. In the past 20 years, they have taken root in Shenzhen, and their children have married and had children in Shenzhen, and have their own careers. Even if they are going to be demolished here, the wonderful time here will be engraved in their hearts and will be irreplaceable!
