It is reported that Samsung will reorganize more than 50% of the production bases concentrated in Vietnam. Samsung has formulated a plan to produce 46% of mobile communication equipment in Vietnam's Taiyingyan Province and Boning Province next year. Mobile devices include smartphones, tablets, etc. Among them, smartphones account for 90% of this batch of plans, and Samsung plans to produce 32% and 14% in Taiying Wuyan Province and Boning Province respectively (the total Samsung mobile phone shipments are shipped). This year, Samsung's smartphone production proportion in Vietnam exceeded 50%, compared with around 60% the year before, and this value will drop to around 40% from next year.
Samsung reduces the proportion of mobile phones produced in Vietnam and distributes production capacity all over the world in order to minimize losses when some uncontrollable external factors occur. The goal is to quickly perform alternative production in other areas even if the specific plants it is built are closed. Samsung Electronics also advises its major cooperative companies to achieve multilateralization of production systems in various production plants around the world.
As smartphone shipments are reduced across the board, the proportion of Vietnamese factories with the highest production capacity will naturally decrease. Samsung Electronics has been reducing shipments of factories in Vietnam recently. Taking into account factors such as the global economy, depression and shrinking consumer psychology, it sets its smartphone production target next year to be less than 300 million units.
