IT Home October 31st, according to TheElec, Samsung Electronics plans to produce 290.68 million smartphones in 2023. That's 13% of the company's production target of 334.2 million units set by the end of 2021 for 2022.
Manufacturers always set production targets around 10% higher than their shipment targets so that there are units for marketing and inventory.
Samsung The shipment target in 2023 is 270 million units, slightly higher than the 260 million units that Samsung believes will be final shipment in 2022.

IT Home learned that in these 32.63 million Taichung: 14.74 million units (45%) will be the Galaxy S23 Ultra; 12.47 million units (38%) will be the Galaxy S23, and 5.42 million units (17%) will be the Galaxy S23+.
Samsung also plans to launch 10.4 million 5th generation folding screen phones next year. More Galaxy Z Flip 5s will be produced 6.86 million units. 3.54 million units will be the Galaxy Z Fold 5.
10.4 million foldable phones have a target of 6% higher than Samsung's targets for Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4, with 6.9 million and 2.9 million respectively, totaling 9.8 million units.
Sources said that Samsung's current Galaxy Z Flip 4 shipments are lower than expected, so the Galaxy Z Flip 5's target is more conservative.
Nevertheless, the production targets for the Samsung Galaxy S23 and Galaxy Z 5 folding series plus traditional flagship models are still set at 60.46 million units, accounting for 21% of their total production targets of 290.68 million units.
Samsung flagship models also account for 20% of its total production target for 2022. Samsung has said that despite the economic downturn, flagship smartphones are expected to grow in 2023.
At the same time, Samsung will produce a total of 215.65 million units of the Galaxy A series next year; the Galaxy M series is set to be 9.77 million units. The Galaxy A series accounts for 74% of Samsung's total smartphone production target.
