"From June 1 this year, our brigade has imposed a fine of 10 yuan on traffic violations of pedestrians not following traffic rules and pedestrians running red lights in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Traffic Safety Law. So far, more than 2,800 people have been punished in accordance with the law." Ge Baolun, a police officer of the Mobile Squadron of Humen Traffic Police Brigade, told reporters.
"Hello, you have passed through the motor vehicle lane at will because you did not pass through the sidewalk as required, which violated the relevant provisions of the Traffic Safety Law. Now we will fine your traffic violations 10 yuan in accordance with the law. Please show your ID card." At the scene, the traffic police on duty told a woman who had just passed through the motor vehicle lane.
Then, the woman cooperated to take out her ID card and reported her phone number. The traffic police on duty issued her a 10 yuan ticket on the spot and asked to pay the fine at the designated bank within 15 days.
For passing through the motor vehicle lane, the woman said: "It is indeed not safe to walk on the motor vehicle lane. Today, I was a little anxious to drive a car, so I went through the motor vehicle lane for convenience. I fully understand that all this is for everyone's safety."
"Now there are many vehicles on the road, and it is dangerous for pedestrians to not obey traffic rules. We used to know that pedestrians would be fined for violating the Traffic Safety Law, but now we are fined. Although it is only 10 yuan, this is an illegal fine and a lesson. We not only need to remember this lesson ourselves, but also tell our family and friends to cherish life and participate in traffic civilizedly." Many citizens who were punished at the scene also expressed their understanding.
The "Punishment Decision" issued by the traffic police shows that the offender must pay the fine at the designated bank within 15 days. If the offender fails to pay within the deadline, a late payment fee will be charged in accordance with relevant regulations, and the late payment fee will not exceed the principal.
