passive components major manufacturer Guoju announced on October 11 that it will acquire the high-end temperature sensor division of Germany's Heraeus Industrial Group for 79.4 million euros (about RMB 553 million). It is expected to complete the acquisition in the first half of 2023. This is the second time that Guoju will implement a cross-border merger and acquisition case after announcing the acquisition of KEMET in November 2019.
It is reported that the Heraeus Sensors business unit is headquartered in Hanau, Germany, and has 2 manufacturing bases in Germany and Malaysia . It mainly produces wire sensors, SMD sensors and PCB sensors, among which high-end platinum thin-film temperature sensors (RTDs) account for 35% of the global market share, ranking first.
Guoju Chairman Chen Taiming said that sensor is an indispensable part of entering intelligence. The acquisition of Heraeus Industrial Group's high-end temperature sensor business unit is an expansion of a highly designed product portfolio, a reflection of technological complementarity, and provides a key driving force for future development.
