The fifth sub-station of the 2022 MotoGP World Motorcycle Championship will be held this week (April 22-24) at the Algarve International Circuit in Portugal.
Fujian Youli Enterprise YOU-ALL , two drivers of Gresini Racing MotoGP team supported by car 23, Enea Bastianini of car No. 23 and Fabio Di Giannantonio of car No. 49, worked hard to accelerate in the qualifying race under the influence of bad weather. In the end, Giannantonio ranked 15th in the starting position of the main race, and Bastanini, who fell in Q1, started 18th.
MotoGP level schedule is 25 laps, with a total conversion of about 114.8 kilometers.
For Bastanini, who is currently in the leading position in the standings, Q1's accident caused his left wrist to be injured. Although the injury was only mild, he still needed to take painkillers before the game to go on stage. In the game in the Ding Land, he was the opportunity to launch a counterattack and get backwards: after running lap 1, his position returned to the thirteenth place in the points zone; by lap 5, he rose to the eleventh place.
In the following laps, he was entangled with the HRC camp and started a battle with the V4 machine several times in a row. But when he arrived at the T8 on lap 10, the fuel was slightly too high, causing him to be thrown out of the field, ending the Portuguese race early. This is his first withdrawal from the season, and luckily he was able to get back on his own without much damage to his body.
Ginantorio's start was not smooth, and when he finished the first lap race, he was ranked 19th. In the subsequent game, he kept trying hard to stabilize the rhythm and ran at the 1 minute and 41 second level, and his position gradually approached the points zone. By lap 19, he had risen to 16th position, only over a second from the car ahead. But on the 22nd lap of the end of the game, he was forced to withdraw from the game due to mechanical failures and lost the opportunity to hit his first MotoGP-level points in his career.
After the game, Bastanini said, "My start is very good and performed well in the competition, but unfortunately, with Little E (Pol) Espargaro, Espargaro) tangled a few laps, and when I surpassed him, I knew it had taken a lot of time. And excessive fuel could be the reason for slipping and falling. When racing on the ground, the car performed very well, which could have been a wonderful counterattack (catching up from behind) and (you can see) I have the ability to do it. Ginantorio said, "It's a pity to be forced to end the final part of the race.
