Last week, GoPro uploaded a video on YouTube about the World Motorcycle Championship (MotoGP), showing a pocket dual-lens camera that can shoot 360-degree videos. The camera in the video seems to be different from the one Woodman released before. The camera was reportedly released at the NAB trade show in April as part of GoPro's latest "Custom Solutions" project.
GoPro's Custom Solutions hinted that GoPro will customize the camera with its partners to meet the partners' special requirements. We have also seen GoPro launch a small live camera for MotoGP, but it has not attracted much attention yet.
In the structure of the GoPro camera platform, it is composed of two slightly modified Hero 4 Black cameras, and there are two HeroCast wireless high-definition signal transmitters under the camera. Companies like ESPN have started video clips of HeroCast live broadcast-quality, which were shot by an upgraded Hero 4 camera.
Perhaps this camera is not the consumer version we are looking forward to, but GoPro is paying more and more attention to live broadcast functions, and GoPro is about to release three hardware products: 360-degree camera, Karma drone, and Hero 5 sports camera. In the past two years, GoPro has not released a new flagship camera, and the new flagship camera, Hero 5, has not yet finalized its launch date. When live videos become popular, the timing of launching this feature is just right. If the live broadcast function is missing, GoPro may miss huge market opportunities.
