According to legend, in ancient times, floods flooded into a vast ocean every summer, so most of the ancestors of that period lived in caves.

The Jade Emperor sent the Antarctic Immortal Weng to the mortal world to save the people. The Antarctic Immortal Weng was reincarnated as Yao, who cares about the people, lives a frugal life, lives in thatched huts, works in business, and controls floods. Eat wild vegetables and wear coarse clothes every day, and the people's lives are getting better. Later, he gave way to Shun.

Shun personally cultivated the fields, fished by himself, made tools, and won the hearts of the people. Shun also personally appointed Yu's father Gun to control the flood, but worked hard but failed. Yu inherited his father's business and took on the important task of controlling water. There is a legend that Yu Nai Tianting Barefoot Immortal is down the realm, and is resourceful. He uses the main method of diversion and dam construction as the auxiliary method of dredging the river and digging canals to drain water. I have been controlling the water outside for 13 years and have passed by my family three times but failed to enter. Yu's spirit moved the Jade Emperor, who sent Marshal Tianpeng to help Yu manage Hongyangjiang. After Marshal Tianpeng came down from the world, he turned into a giant pig. He aimed his thick and hard mouth in the stone box at the lower part of the mountain. He only arched lightly and opened the gap in the mountain. The flood suddenly leaked and flowed into the sea. The flood was subdued and the people lived a stable life. Later, Yu succeeded Shun and continued to control the flood, and later generations called Yu the "King of Yu". After Yu's death, the Jade Emperor appointed Yao, Shun and Yu as heavenly officials (give blessings to the people), local officials (give sins to the people), and water officials (give disasters to the people), which is the Three Officials Emperor. In order to commemorate them, the people built the Three Officials Temples and sculpted statues of the Three Officials to worship them.

According to legend, after Tang Monk's father, Chen Guangrui, won the top scorer, he brought his pregnant wife to Hongzhou (later Hongzhou) on his way to Hongyang River. He was killed by the thief Liu Hong and fell into the river. Liu Hong stole Chen Guangrui's official clothes, seals and documents, and went to Hongzhou to take office under his name, and forced his wife to marry Chen. In order to protect Chen Guangrui's roots, Chen's wife endured humiliation and lived a life of silence. A few months later, Chen's wife gave birth to a boy. In order to protect the baby's life, Chen's wife took advantage of the fact that no one was around and wrote a blood book on the baby's life experience, and put it in a stone box with the baby. When the night was quieter, she placed the stone box on the Hongyang River. Shizi drifted along the river and was discovered by the little monk of Jinshan Temple who went to the riverside to fetch water in the early morning. The little monk quickly reported to Zen Master Faming of Jinshan Temple that the baby was salvaged and rescued by Zen Master Faming and raised by monks. Zen Master Faming named him Jiang Liuer, and , the name Xuanzang. Later, Xuanzang and Tang Monk went to the West to seek Buddhist scriptures, and after hardships, they finally achieved the right result.

It is said that Tang Monk once appeared on a peak in the south mountain of Hongzhou, silently staring at the land of Hongzhou ( Yangyuan ), and protecting this land and the people. According to legend, the people have seen that mountain appear as a sitting posture of Tang monk wearing a cassock, a Buddha hat, and a kind-eyed and kind-eyed person. They all said that this was from Tang Monk to thank the elders of Hongzhou and the masters of Jinshan Temple.

Therefore, the Jinshan Temple in Yangyuan, the Shuangta Jinshan Temple has always been built with the Tang Monk Hall, and the golden body of the Tang Monk has been repaired throughout the dynasties and has remained there (Note: Jinshan Temple was first built in the Tang Dynasty, moved to the Ming Dynasty, and rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty).

Yao, Shun and Yu were the three officials, and Tang Monk was a Buddha. Because of the blessing of the three officials and one Buddha, the people in the area of Kuangwu live and work in peace and contentment, and there is no major disaster in history. The story of the Three Officials and One Buddha has been passed down for a long time in the Kuanggu area and is well-known to everyone.
