Germany's national leaders have agreed to ban unvaccinated people from participating in most public life in order to resist the fourth wave of the new crown epidemic.

According to the BBC, the outgoing German Chancellor Merkel said on Wednesday, December 2 that only those who have been vaccinated or have recently recovered from the new crown can enter restaurants, cinemas, leisure facilities and other public places. Merkel also added that compulsory vaccination measures may be implemented in February next year, and she described these far-reaching measures as "national unity."
2G policy implemented by Germany
Germany's fourth wave of COVID-19 is the worst case in the country's epidemic so far, with another 388 deaths in the past 24 hours. There are also growing concerns about the spread of the Omickron variant, which EU health officials warned that the variant could account for more than half of all new coronavirus cases in the coming months.
Merkel said that the hospital is now overwhelmed and many patients have to be transferred to different areas for treatment. "In view of this situation, I think it is appropriate to adopt mandatory vaccination and we must work hard to break the fourth wave of the epidemic." She also made it clear that this must be approved by parliament first.

No access to public places without vaccination
Some states in Germany have implemented so-called 2G policies, which will now be implemented nationwide. 2G stands for Genesen (recovered in the last six months) or Geimpft (vaccination).
According to the BBC, the measures agreed by leaders of 16 German states and federal governments include:
Unvaccinated people will be limited to meeting with their families and two other people;
2G rules will be implemented in restaurants and cultural venues and non-essential stores;
0 in areas with 350 cases per 100,000 people in the past seven days will be closed;
will arrange up to 30 million vaccinations on Christmas Eve, including the first, second and enhanced shots;
outdoor events including Bundesliga football will implement the 2G rules and there will be restrictions on the number of spectators;
prohibits people from setting off fireworks on New Year's Eve.
Currently, Germany has strengthened the scope of vaccination, and nearly 1 million vaccinations were conducted on Wednesday alone, but only 68.7% of the population in the country have been vaccinated, which is relatively low in Western Europe.
According to data from the European Centre for Disease Control and Control in the EU, 15 European countries have reported 79 new Omickron variant cases to date (this data does not include the UK). Most cases are related to travel to African countries, while others are related to transit flights between Africa and Europe.
