WBC announced the qualifying team grouping
2023 World Baseball Classic (WBC) preliminaries final team list is confirmed, and WBC officially announced the team groupings from the qualifying match.
4's annual World Baseball Classics ended in 2017, originally scheduled to be held in 2021, but due to the impact of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the 2021 Classics was cancelled and postponed to 2023 as soon as possible. The teams participating in the 5th Classics have been expanded from 16 teams to 20 teams. The 20 teams in the preliminary round are divided into 4 groups, and each group has one team that qualifies for the qualifying round.

A preliminaries include the Netherlands, Cuba, Italy, Panama, and Taiwan, Group B includes Japan, South Korea, China, Australia, and Czech Republic, Group C includes the United States, Mexico, Canada, Colombia, and the United Kingdom; Group D includes Venezuela, Dominican, Puerto Rico, Israel, and Nicaragua.
A group competition location is at the Taiwan Intercontinental Baseball Stadium, from March 8 to 13, 2023. The top two of each group will advance to the quarterfinals and rematch. The top two of the Groups A and B will go to the Tokyo Dome on March 15 and 16, while Groups C and D will fight at the Miami Dadebo Stadium on March 17 and 18, and the last four games will be held in Miami from March 19 to 21.
