China Basketball League (Beijing) Sports Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "CBA League") officially released the competition schedule for the 2019-2020 China Men's Basketball Professional League (hereinafter referred to as "CBA League ") on the 23rd. The new season of the CBA league will officially start on November 1, and the opening match will be played by the Guangdong team last season's league champion and the "Nine-Crown King" against the 2017-2018 season league champion Liaoning team .
Compared with last season, this year's CBA schedule has three main differences: it has changed from 3 games in the past 1 week to 8 games in 3 weeks. The schedule is more humane considering the time and regional factors. For the first time in history, the specific date of the supplementary competition was announced in advance. The
competition system is consistent with last season, with home and away system, four cycles between the same group, and different groups of double cycles . The intensity of the game has been changed from one-week three-week eight games last season. There are 46 rounds of the regular season, which will start on November 1 and end on March 12, 2020. The playoffs will officially start on March 15. The top 4 teams in the regular season will directly advance to the quarterfinals, while the teams in the 5th-12th place will enter the 12-to-8 rounds to compete for the other four quarterfinals. The 12-8 rounds match system is three games and two wins (1-1-1), the quarter-finals are three wins (2-2-1), the semi-finals are four wins (2-3-2), and the finals are four wins (2-2-1-1-1). The first game of the finals will be April 26 and will end at the latest on May 13. The 2020 All-Star Weekend will be held from January 10th to 12th.
Guangdong team and Liaoning team have had two matches in the regular season of the new season. In addition to the opening game, another game was arranged in the 24th round on January 3. Liaoning team was at home to meet the challenges of Guangdong team. The matchup between the Guangdong team and the Xinjiang team is also high-profile. Xinjiang team, which lost to Guangdong in the finals last season, is preparing for the new season and will face Guangdong twice in the regular season, namely the seventh round away against Guangdong on November 19 and the 30th round home match against Guangdong on January 21. The fourth group with Shenzhen team, Beijing team, Shanghai team, Dragon Lion team and Beijing Enterprises team is nicknamed the "Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen" group, which is also quite interesting. In the quarterfinals last season, Shenzhen team won three games in a row with two consecutive home games, completing a "Jedi counterattack" against Beijing. According to the competition system, the two teams will face each other four times in the regular season in the new season.
