WSOP's first All-Star Tournament in history was held on September 1, 2004. Only 10 of the most well-known players in the poker championship were invited. The champion will receive a reward of 200W, and other participants will be considered to be running with them.
2005
2005 WSOP All-Star Game was launched from November 6th to 8th. Not only are there rewards for 9 finalists, but Harrah’s Casino (now renamed Caesars), hosted by the venue, has also set a new way of participation: any player who wins the WSOP Tour or enters FT in the WSOP 1W Knife Unlimited Championship that year, can qualify for participation.
However, the sponsor at that time, Pepsi insisted on giving Phil Hellmuth, Doyle Brunson and Johnny Chan unconditional participation rights, which attracted a large number of players' dissatisfaction, saying why these three people don't need to follow the rules? In the end, they were allowed to participate, Hellmuth finished third, while Lao Dao and Johnny Chen missed the final table, 10th and 13th respectively.
2006
This year, the Star Tournament invited 27 players who qualified for participation, including 15 players in the final table of the 2005 WSOP main event, 7 champions of the WSOP Tour, and 5 sponsors. Poker ambassador Mike Sexton eventually won the championship, the great god Danniu second, and Michael Matusow third.
2007
Harrah’s Casino announced that it had caused too much controversy due to the unconditional quota of advertising sponsors, so it decided to suspend the WSOP All-Star Game indefinitely.
2010
has been stalled for three years, and this game finally returned on June 27, 2010! And with a star-like meaning, a new competition system: allows the audience to vote online from 521 WSOP gold bracelet champions, and it is decided by fans just like classic sports events.
In the end, 20 well-known players including Phil Ivey, Danniu, Laodao, Phil Hellmuth, Chen Johnny... were selected one after another. There were 5 guaranteed places for the star championship in previous years, and 2 sponsor places for ElkY and Andrew Barton, with a total of 27 people participating.

2022
WSOP All-Star Tournament original text, the meaning is closer to the "Champions Championship". To date, the participation method has been changed to "Only the winners of the WSOP gold bracelet and Tour gold ring that year can participate", which is not much the same as the original essence of the Star Tournament.
