On October 25, at the second theme forum of the 2022 International Symposium on Tropical Rainforest Protection, the "List of Priority Protected Species in Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park" (official version) (hereinafter referred to as the "List") was publicly released to the public. The protected species include three groups of vertebrates, plants, and large fungi distributed within the scope of of Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park.

Large fungi mainly select 63 species such as resin melasmodium and ganoderma lucidum based on four indicators: endangered grade, genetic value, reproduction difficulty and utilization value.
reporter learned that the "Catalog" was formulated to promote the gradual transition of Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park from the protection research mainly of Hainan gibbons to the protection of other species in tropical rainforest National Park and the protection of biodiversity .
Director of the World Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and Chairman of the Asian Member Committee, Deputy Director of the Biodiversity Committee of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Professor Mark Ping of the Institute of Botany Research believes that the release of the "Catalogue" is not only an important scientific research result, but also the starting point for the subsequent Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park to promote biodiversity conservation work. In his opinion, we must continue to study, supplement and improve the information on preferred protected species, and combine the Directory to formulate technical methods for the identification of key areas of biodiversity (KBAs), laying a solid foundation for the identification of KBA assessments in the entire national park.
