The Import and Export Food Safety Bureau of the Animal and Plant Quarantine Department of the General Administration of Customs of China issued a notice on the suspension of the import of citrus fruits, chilled leucorrhea and frozen horse mackerel in Taiwan. According to Taiwanese media reports, the ratio of fresh food or refrigerated leucorrhea sold to the mainland reaches 100%. In response, an official from the DPP authorities' "Agriculture Committee" said that he was still understanding and would make unified explanations to the outside world.
Notice pointed out that since last year, mainland customs have repeatedly detected quarantine pests - Planococcus minor - Oceanic buttock-shaped mealybug Planococcus minor, as well as times thiophosphate and lecota residues exceed the standard; in June this year, the nucleic acid of the new coronavirus was detected on the packaging of the frozen leucorrhea and frozen horse mackerel from Taiwan. In order to prevent risks, in accordance with relevant laws, regulations and standards in the mainland, it is decided to suspend the import of citrus fruits, chilled leucorrhea and frozen horse mackerel from Taiwan from August 3, 2022.
All customs will suspend the acceptance of customs declarations for citrus fruits, chilled leucorrhea and frozen horse mackerel from August 3, 2022, and promptly notify relevant enterprises in the jurisdiction of the above situation.
Taiwan's "China Times News Network Report" pointed out that according to statistics, the "other citrus" of fresh food in Taiwan last year were sold in total, of which 2,483 tons were sold to mainland China, with an export ratio of 86%. "Berry hairtail, fresh or refrigerated" was exported to 9,146 tons last year, all of which were sold to the mainland, with a ratio of 100%.
