According to Taiwan's United Daily News, the Kaohsiung mayoral by-election ended at 4 pm on the 15th. After the vote was completed at 6 pm, the DPP candidate Chen Chi-mai won the election with more than 670,000 votes. However, Tainan City Councilman and Deputy Secretary-General of the Kuomintang Xie Longjie analyzed that from the results, blue, green and white are actually "three losses", because none of the camps met the expected standards.
14th, the Blue Camp finally played " Han Kuo-yu card", but the results showed that Han was the catalyst for the blue and green selection, and also increased the number of votes in the Green Camp. Li Meizhen only grew slightly and barely maintained the minimum basic base of the Blue Camp in Kaohsiung, so Xie Longjie also felt that Han's appearance actually had little impact.
In addition, it is worth noting that Chen Chimai, who has a huge advantage, failed to break the number of votes he received in 2018. Xie Longjie believes that Su Zhenqing, a "green committee" who has a good relationship with Chen, was detained for corruption, would have some impact on the election situation. Although Chen Chimai failed to surpass the 2018 vote record, his performance this time was good, and his vote rate even reached 70%, which also wiped out the campaign team's original concerns.
