Magpie Bridge Fairy ·Yunlin's attention-grabbing inscription on the leap Chinese Christmas Festival couplet

Qing Dynasty: Gu Taiqing

In the new autumn, the leap bridge reunites, and the world is begging for a good time. The railing is tilted and the jade rope is low. I ask how much is the secret of heaven?

A female companion in the boudoir and a beautiful gathering in the sky, praying for many things. The saying of gods is nothing, even if there is, it should be old.

[Note]

[1] Jade rope: star name. It often refers to stars.

[2] Female companion in the boudoir: refers to ladies who recite poems in couplets in paintings.

[Appreciation]

The poem was written in Dingyou, in the 17th year of Daoguang (1837), and at the age of 39 in Taiqing.

This is a picture of a lady inscribed with the title of "The Song of the Couplet of the Chinese Valentine's Day" painted by Yunlin. The Chinese Valentine's Day couplet is the theme of the painting, so the poet starts from the Chinese Valentine's Day. July 7 is a good time for the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl to meet, and the Magpie Bridge on the Milky Way is built. Because the time of painting is , leap July , there are two good periods, and the bridge is "re-driving" again, and there are two trick-begging activities in the world. The women hope to beg for life happiness, and there are also two opportunities to find a good husband. The poet asked, they were changing the stars and the stars were moving at night, I wonder how many secrets they had been begging for. The poet raised questions about this. Because there are Qiqiao Festival every year and there are also begging for clever activities every year, but women may not always be happy, because the world is always "incidental". Mythological stories are originally "non-nothing", "even if there is", and the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl "should be old." The poet sympathizes with the pursuit of happiness in marriage and love between men and women, but also makes confusing conclusions, which is a reflection of real life. This picture of a lady lives to express the beauty of women, which also includes the inner beauty they express in the painting. The poet abandoned the praises of this beauty in history and ingeniously led to a philosophical proposition that beautiful wishes are often difficult to achieve in the world. It inspires people to think, and at the same time deepens the ideological theme of the lyrics.
