At present, developers and public beta testers are conducting testing of iOS 16.1 beta version. About a week later, Apple will release the official version of iOS 16.1 for all compatible iPhone, marking the first major update of the iOS 16 operating system since its public release in September.

In iOS 16.1, Apple will bring the following changes, features and bug fixes to iPhone users.

1. Activity notification

In iOS 16.1, Apple is redesigning the ‌iOS 16‌ lock screen and the Dynamic Island of iPhone 14 Pro. Live Activity is a new type of interactive notification that dynamically displays real-time information from an application without having to open the application directly.

For example, Uber can display real-time activity notifications on iOS 16 lock screen to show the expected arrival time of the car. Sports apps will also be able to utilize live events to showcase match results in real time.

On the latest "iPhone 14 Pro" model, "Dynamic Island" also integrates real-time activities, so users can view real-time information from the application when using their phones. Real-time activity is also displayed on the lock screen in a constant display mode. Once iOS 16.1 is released to the public, the application will begin to adopt support for Live Activity.

2. Redesigned battery indicator

This summer, Apple added a battery percentage indicator to the status bar of the notched iPhone. The initial version of the battery indicator includes a battery icon that remains visually full regardless of the actual charging of the ‌iPhone‌. In iOS 16.1, Apple is changing the behavior of the battery icon to accurately reflect the iPhone's charging level when the percentage is displayed. iOS 16.1 also expands the battery indicator to more devices, including iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 13 mini.

3. Apple Fitness+ Just one iPhone

Starting from iOS 16.1, ‌iPhone‌ users can subscribe and use Apple Fitness+ without Apple Watch. Fitness+ is an Apple subscription service that offers an extensive catalog of fitness videos and programs for different coaches. At release, Apple Watch is required to display real-time metrics on the screen using Fitness+.

4. Clean charging options

In iOS 16.1, Apple has added a new clean charging option to selectively charge iPhones when low-carbon emissions are available to provide a greener charging method. Apple says that based on users’ daily habits, the ‌‌iPhone‌‌ will still be fully charged before it needs to be needed and the feature can be turned off as needed.

V. Preload the content in the app

iOS 16.1 has added a new toggle switch for applications downloaded from the App Store, which can automatically run the newly downloaded app in the background to download content before you first launch them. The new switch is designed to enable users to start using the app faster as soon as they are downloaded without waiting for in-app content to load.

Try to iOS 16.1 is the first major update of ‌iOS 16‌. It contains some small but noteworthy changes and bug fixes as expected. It is very worth waiting for, but my beta version thought it was quite good. In the past, the wireless network signal in the room was quite smooth and the signal was stable! I'll use it for a while before I'll talk about [grin]
