Ching Man Temple is a popular temple in the ancient city of Chiang Mai and a must-recommended place for major tourist books. The builder of Chiang Mai is also translated as (King Meng Lai) and is the 25th generation king of the Enyang Kingdom. He was born in Qingsheng in Thailand today. When King Minglai ascended the throne, there were many small tribal countries in northern Thailand. When the powerful were sected, King Minglai conquered the Qing Kong of the Qing, and Menglai and Qingkan formed an alliance with the Payao Kingdom and Sukhothai Kingdom.
Later, I heard that Nanben's wealth had caused the spy plan to disintegrate Nanben's country and annex it. The Kingdom of Lanna was founded and the capital was established Chiang Rai , which was the first independent country in Thailand's history. Through a series of conquests and mergers, the Lanna Kingdom became a powerful regime in northern Thailand at that time.
Later, because the original capital was often troubled by floods, King Minglai continued to find a new capital. By chance, this blessed land was found not far from the foot of Sutie Mountain , so Chiang Mai City was built in 1296.
When King Minglai Lixin was enjoying his old age in this beautiful small town, he staged a scene of seizing the throne. It turned out that King Minglai's capital, Chiang Mai, was attacked by the Nongbang Kingdom a few years later. The youngest son was very brave and truly good at defeating the Nongbang army. However, the eldest son was very jealous of his younger brother, afraid that King Minglai would pass the throne to his younger brother, so he took the initiative to plan to usurp the throne.
However, after the incident was exposed, the eldest son was executed by King Minglai. He also appointed his younger brother as the heir to the throne. In this way, the king who was powerful in Thailand's history thought that he could finally enjoy his old age in this quiet mountain city, but there were unexpected situations. In a storm, he went to Chiang Mai market but was hit by lightning and died.
Unintentionally found in the book that the mural of the Qingman Temple actually depicts the birth of King Minglai and the establishment of Chiang Mai City. In order to see this magical mural again, I went there again with curiosity.

The appearance of the temple has not changed much except for the more tourists. The solemn Buddha statues and red-bottomed murals are the key. After reading for a long time, I confirmed that I was painting a picture of the construction of Chiang Mai City, but I couldn't find the picture of the king hitting lightning. I don’t know if some of the pictures are blocked by Buddha statues.
But I still don’t quite understand why I should draw this story in the hall? Don’t you usually draw the story of Buddha becoming a Buddha? It turned out that the location of the Qingman Temple was the place where King Minglai built Chiang Mai City and planned to retire here.
Although there is no lightning strike in the main hall, there are murals in another side hall. The murals in this side hall describe the story of the Buddha. This side hall provides two Buddha statues that King Minglai carried with him back then. It is said that they are from India.
