Chinese Embassy in Ukraine reported that Kiev at 17:00 local time on the 28th, the first batch of international students set off from the Red Building of Kiev University and headed to Moldova . The Chinese Embassy (Consulate) in Ukraine coordinates with local police to provide security guards. A large number of international students will evacuate tomorrow (March 1).

Chinese Ambassador to Ukraine Fan Xianrong went to the scene to see off the students. The embassy sent personnel to Moldova and coordinated with local police to escort them all the way to ensure the safe evacuation of international students.

Fan Xianrong told everyone in the car, "The motherland mobilizes all resources to create convenience for our smooth travel. Everything is for the good of our classmates. I believe it will be good. When things happen, we will work together and strive together. I wish all the students a safe and smooth journey again."

3 twice went to Ukraine to perform its duties

Just a few days ago, Fan Xianrong published a "Letter to All Chinese Compatriots in Ukraine" through the WeChat public account of the Chinese Embassy in Ukraine.

He wrote in it:

"Today, a Chinese compatriot called the embassy. I heard that our ambassador has run away and is no longer in Kiev. May I ask, is this true? So, today I will meet you specifically for videos to let you see with your own eyes that the Chinese ambassador is still in Kiev and is still facing this special difficult period with the vast majority of compatriots. And I want to tell you clearly that the Chinese ambassador will never leave his compatriots and take care of his own safety first. This is not the style of the Chinese ambassador, not the style of the Chinese Communists!"

He also said:

"The Party and the government have always been concerned about the safety of their compatriots. In the past few days, the most important thing I have received in China is to protect our own compatriots. The most important work we do every day, night, and overtime is everyone's safety. So I ask everyone to rest assured and have confidence. The Chinese Embassy will never ignore everyone's safety. The original aspiration and mission of the Communist Party of China is the people. Now that the people are in trouble, how can they ignore it!"

Fan Xianrong has served as the Chinese ambassador to Ukraine for 2 years since 2020.

In February 2020, Fan Xianrong was appointed as the ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Ukraine . He is also the tenth ambassador since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Ukraine. On March 24, he submitted his national certificate to Ukrainian President Zelensky.

Fan Xianrong said that as the new Chinese ambassador to Ukraine, he feels that his mission is important and his responsibility is lofty. At present, China-Ukraine relations are constantly developing, bilateral cooperation has achieved great achievements, and there is still huge potential. Further developing the strategic partnership between China and Ukraine is in the fundamental interests of the people of both countries. I will live up to my mission and work hard to make new contributions to the benefit of the people of China and Ukraine.

What many people don’t know is that Fan Xianrong is also one of the witnesses to the establishment of the China Interim Embassy in Ukraine.

Fan Xianrong wrote in his speech at the Chinese Embassy in Ukraine:

"In 1992, when I was a young man and a young diplomat, I came here for the first time when I was a permanent foreign resident."

At that time, the Soviet Union had just experienced disintegration. On January 4, 1992, China and Ukraine signed the communiqué for the establishment of diplomatic relations. On February 27, Fan Xianrong took off as the third-class secretary of , and took off with Yu Zhen, the first diplomatic representative in Ukraine, to Kiev, the capital of Ukraine.

As a new independent country, Ukraine did not have ready-made diplomatic halls at that time. Except for some Eastern European countries that upgraded their original consulates in Kiev to embassies, most countries' diplomats live in the local Ross Hotel. This is a foreign-related hotel built during the Soviet period, with relatively good hardware facilities and safety conditions.

Fan Xianrong and three others were arranged on the 7th floor of the hotel. After everything was settled, the first task was to hang up the hall sign for the temporary embassy.

Yu Zhenqi believes that the Chinese embassy signs abroad should of course use Chinese characters, and also include English or domestic characters. But I encountered a problem during the customization process, and the local area was unable to make Chinese character signs.

They took a work-around, engraved " Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Ukraine " on the hall plate with red and yellow characters on the red background.

The three members of the "Kuan Building Group" were extremely excited to see the embassy taking shape from his own hands. At this point, the Chinese Embassy in Ukraine has begun to take shape.

3 has been simultaneous interpretation of Russian

From 2001 to 2020, Fan Xianrong served as the Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in the Russian Federation, Consul General of Khabarovsk, Counselor of the General Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, Ambassador of the Special Plenipotentiary in Tajikistan, Minister of the Embassy in the Russian Federation, etc.

·Fan Xianrong

Among them, from 2015 to 2017, Fan Xianrong served as the director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.

At that time, with the continuous deepening of integration into the "Belt and Road" and accelerating the opening up of Ningxia, the autonomous region's important and multilateral foreign affairs activities have requirements for the level of translation. The Foreign Affairs Office opened a simultaneous translation training class in 2017, aiming to cultivate translation talents in English, Arab, Japanese, French, Russian and other languages.

At that time, Fan Xianrong, who had experience in Russian simultaneous interpretation, put forward three requirements at the mobilization meeting for the opening class: First, we must fully understand the importance and necessity of improving our ability to simultaneous interpretation; second, we must be confident, have a sense of responsibility and mission, and be brave to bear pressure; third, we must practice diligently.
