Soong Ching Ling (1893-1981), leader of the People's Republic of China, a fighter of patriotism, democracy, internationalism, and communism. He was born in Wenchang, Guangdong (now Hainan), and was born in Shanghai. In 1914, she served as Mr. Sun Yat-sen's secretary, thus starting her revolutionary career for nearly seventy years. She inherited, defended and developed Sun Yat-sen's thoughts and careers, and made important contributions to the new democratic revolution and the socialist revolution . Soong Ching Ling opposed the war of aggression and was peaceful, and was internationally recognized as one of the greatest women of the 20th century. In 1950, Soong Ching Ling was elected as a leader of the World Peace Council ; in 1952, he was elected as chairman of the Asian and Pacific Regional Peace Liaison Committee.
