On the morning of August 18, the 2016 Golden Autumn Student Aid Activity and Poverty Alleviation Job Information Release Conference of Foreign Affairs of the CPPCC of Changde City, Hunan Province was held, marking a successful end to the Jinqiu Student Aid Activity of Foreign Affairs of the CPPCC of Foreign Affairs of the CPPCC that began in 2014. Li Aiguo, Chairman of the Municipal CPPCC, and Chen Hua, Deputy Mayor of the Municipal Government, attended the meeting and delivered speeches.
At the second plenary session of the Sixth Municipal CPPCC in 2014, in order to support the construction and development of their hometown, the Foreign Affairs Committee members of the Municipal CPPCC proposed to launch the Golden Autumn Student Aid Activity for Foreign Affairs Committee members. They decided to raise 2 million yuan and use pairing to help the poor and cash donations to fund 100 freshmen in college to help them complete their university studies. 14 foreign travel committee members actively participated, and in addition to funding 18 flight students in Changde City in one go, they also funded 82 poor college students in a row.
Since the Municipal CPPCC will change its term early this year, this Golden Autumn Student Aid activity will complete the original donation plan to support students and provide funding for pairing to help students in the subsequent university studies. At the same time, the foreign travel committee members who donated funds also specially adjusted 620 jobs from their respective companies to provide them with poverty alleviation sites and villages connected by the municipal CPPCC, from going to school to employment, creating an upgraded version of the Golden Autumn Student Aid Action.
In his speech, Li Aiguo pointed out that the Golden Autumn Student Aid activities are a loving act of the Municipal CPPCC Foreign Affairs Committee members, which fully demonstrates the spirit of the Changde people to advocate culture and virtue, and demonstrates the traditional virtues of the Chinese nation in helping the poor and giving good gifts. He sincerely sent a message to young students to cherish and grasp the key stages of growth and development, and repay the society with excellent results. At the same time, he also demanded that the majority of CPPCC members and CPPCC cadres in the city should learn from foreign members of the country, actively perform their duties around poverty alleviation, with feelings and responsibilities, consciously participate in the "Three One" poverty alleviation action and the "Donation of Funds to Scholar Month" activities, sincerely help paired poor families solve some practical difficulties, and make every effort to achieve the goal of poverty alleviation villages contacted by members of the CPPCC Chairman's Meeting at the municipal and county levels, and the poor families that CPPCC members and CPPCC cadres paired up to help them, because they could not afford tuition fees. Before the
meeting, the Municipal CPPCC Foreign Affairs Committee members and the students received their students visited the city planning exhibition hall, Dingling Park and Liuye Lake Beach Park.
Vice Chairman of the Municipal CPPCC Xiao Chaojin, Yang Xinhui, Chen Weijun, Chen Weiming, Fu Shaoping, Gan Zhimin, Peng Mengxiong and Secretary-General Yuan Yunbo attended the meeting, and Vice Chairman of the Municipal CPPCC Zhu Gowen presided over the meeting.
