The joint statement of the Association of Progressives pointed out that the Taiwan education department issued a notice on August 5 that the second time of the circumstance of universities was issued, first of all the students who opened the entry order and the quarantine of fresh graduates (including mainland students) were considered to be smooth and smooth, so it further opened up all students who came to Taiwan to study; then it changed its statement and declared that the overseas students who opened the entry this time did not include mainland students. The reason was based on the development of cross-strait situation, and the competent authorities of cross-strait affairs believed that it needed to have a prudent assessment. From this we can see that the DPP authorities selectively exclude mainland students from studying in Taiwan, which is entirely a political consideration and has nothing to do with preventing the spread of the epidemic. We cannot agree with it and deeply regret it.
The Association for the Progress of the Association believes that Taiwan is the party that provides higher education to overseas students, and decision-making thinking should adopt a positive and positive attitude, and should not limit itself. In other words, without affecting the epidemic prevention goals, the DPP authorities should treat mainland students fairly, that is, compared with other overseas students, and actively make decisions to open entry and help them to come to Taiwan to study smoothly is the responsible approach.
The Progressive Association solemnly calls on the DPP authorities to compare with other overseas students as soon as possible, open up entry for mainland students to study, and not let politics override education; fully take into account the rights and interests of freshmen to receive education, and announce the exact date of entry as soon as possible, and do not be virtuous.
