He has long promoted art and culture along the coast of Yunlin and often used creations to beautify the community and campus.

Chen Xuanmao has been committed to promoting art and literature education for more than 30 years. He has won the first prize of the first ink painting category of the first Taocheng Art Exhibition, the first prize of the Yunlin Art Exhibition, the first prize of the Qingxi Art Golden Ring Award, etc. He has won numerous awards and his works are collected in major venues such as the Kaohsiung Art Museum.

He is an oyster shell artist who is very popular among locals.
Chen Xuanmao believes that oysters are the main aquaculture fishery in Kouhu Township. In the past, oyster shells were discarded at will, and were recycled and reused, and new life was given by shearing and sticking, presenting the fishery, ecology and humanistic history of the outer umbrella. Egrets are the most common birds along the coast, and their number corresponds to the advantages and disadvantages of the environment.
