Currently, most small and medium-sized enterprises in China have still stays at the stage where the training manager of the Human Resources Department is the "director", the internal lecturer is the "actor", and the students are the "listeners (audiences)". It is still a long way from the "student-centered" training. "College-centered" means that training managers and lecturers should be trained to be trainee-centered. But what about our internal lecturers’ skills? What kind of training has our "directors" conducted or organized? How to train them effectively and step by step?

How to train internal lecturers effectively and step by step

The situation in many companies is like this: supervisors, managers or engineers or above must serve as internal lecturers, no matter what their major is, no matter whether they are willing or not (few people are willing, because classes are auxiliary jobs, few are included in performance appraisal), no matter whether they have the ability (too few have the ability, because those with the ability have gone to engage in training-related industries). Companies send these prospective lecturers to participate in six or twelve hours of so-called TTT (Training The Trainer) training and PTT (regular TTT and PTT companies will consider it more expensive), or ask a lecturer to go to the company for one or two days or one or two nights, and these prospective lecturers will take the post immediately. In an enterprise I have met, when conducting internal lecturer training, the lecturer talked about how to use body language, but he held the microphone in his right hand and the podium in his left hand. Sometimes he would insert it into his pants pocket, and he would not leave the podium in two hours. The training results can be imagined. If the internal lecturer had achieved such a quick success, I think the lecturers on the market would not have the same value as they are today!

Internal lecturer is the soul of the enterprise training system. The author has the following stupid opinions on how to train internal lecturers in a productive and gradual manner. It can be divided into five steps:

Step 1: Starting from a high building on the ground - mastering the essential basic skills "It's difficult to start with everything". If the instructor does not know how to make courseware, does not use basic equipment, does not understand the basic procedures for class, etc., "Looking at flowers in the fog" will only make you more afraid of class. Therefore, mastering essential basic skills and enhancing their confidence is the first step. The essential basic skills of

are as follows: 1. How to use search engines and download tools to search and download courseware resources. Baidu's document search and Xunlei's video search are both good choices. Courseware resources include: PPT, video, pictures, Flash animation, inspirational music, etc.

2. The ability to make simple courseware by yourself. For example, Powerpint is the simplest and most basic, but not every instructor can do it.

3. Computer operation, player use, PPT projection, power amplifier microphone adjustment, etc. It seems simple, but once it gets stuck, it has a significant impact on the lecturer's emotions. (The middle and high-level cadres of small and medium-sized enterprises that focus on manufacturing are relatively old, and there are many people who don’t know or are not familiar with computer use.)

4. Clear the class procedures and requirements. For example: student sign-in → organizer introduction → lecturer attending class (including self-introduction, course content, learning objectives) → interaction → assessment. For lecturers who are on the podium for the first time, mastering the overall situation and not panic in their hearts is also conducive to controlling the progress of the class.

Step 2: Eat in one bite and become a fat man - it's easy to start and then difficult, master the basic teaching skills "One minute on stage, ten years of hard work off stage." Many crash courses teach in the first class: how to use breathing method to overcome tension; how to create suspense and increase tension. When a person can't walk, you teach him how to run; when a person speaks nervously, you teach him how to speak beautifully. This will only make you learn more and more confused as to how to do it. Start with how to start, how to turn, how to end, how to interact with students, and how to increase the fun and attractiveness of the course.

Step 3: Sharpening the knife will not delay chopping wood - Trial lecture When the internal instructor masters the above basic skills, the training manager and the instructor jointly determine the course name, and then the instructor starts preparing lessons (it is recommended that the training manager determine the course outline in the early stage, because most junior instructors do not have the ability to formulate the outline or are unwilling to systematically and comprehensively formulate the outline). After the courseware is passed, the instructor will organize a trial lecture.

When the lecturer's first lecture, it is recommended not to arrange managers with higher levels than the lecturer to listen, because this will make the lecturer more nervous. After the lecturer of

, he commented on each other. It is best to record the video without prior notification, and carve it into a disc after class and hand it over to the instructor for review.

Step 4: It’s a mule or a horse, come out for a walk - formal lectures "It’s easy to know everything and it’s hard to do it". After all, the simulated environment is different from the formal environment. It's a mule or a horse, come out for a walk. Practice is the only criterion for testing truth.

Step 5: Kung Fu is outside of poetry - When you go to this point, the instructor can receive higher-level teaching skills training. Such as: precise gesture expression, the use of different facial expressions, how to lose burden and set suspense, how to silence the sound, etc. In addition to learning higher-level teaching skills, we should also strive to collect class materials, increase our knowledge, improve our professional knowledge in the course, and enhance our personal charm. As the saying goes: training skills are outside of training.

is down-to-earth, and after completing the above five steps one by one, although the teaching skills are not perfect, they are still basically competent. "It's not a day when it's frozen" and lecturers who are aspiring and interested in training must accumulate and practice themselves over time.
