Recruitment of Hong Kong payload experts today launched
Chinese Manned Space Engineering Office announced on the 2nd of this month that in order to meet the needs of subsequent flight missions of manned space engineering, the fourth batch of preparatory astronaut selection in my country has been launched recently.
A total of 12 to 14 preparatory astronauts were selected this time, including 7 to 8 space pilots, space flight engineer and payload experts, including about 2 payload experts, selected among scientific researchers engaged in space scientific research and application-related fields. The preparatory astronaut selection was organized and implemented by the China Manned Space Engineering Office. It is expected to be completed in about one and a half years, and the first time the payload experts will be selected in Hong Kong and Macao.

Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced the formal launch of the preliminary selection process on the same day. The recruitment period starts from today (6th) to October 27th, and will be handed over to the mainland for further selection. All 11 local universities in Hong Kong are recruiting targets, and many universities have expressed support for the plan. Some universities described the school's scholars' reactions enthusiastically, and some universities will conduct internal selection first and then recommend it to the SAR government. The specific number has not yet been announced.
Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) is the only university in Hong Kong with practical experience in aerospace missions. The "Table sampling execution device" developed by the PolyU team helps " Chang'e-5 " successfully complete the lunar table sampling return mission. In addition, the "Fire Status Surveillance Camera" also provides support for the country's first Mars exploration mission " Tianwen-1 ". PolyU said it was welcomed that the country announced the selection of payload experts in Hong Kong, which reflects the trust and affirmation of the vast number of scientific researchers in Hong Kong, and is also a great encouragement to young Hong Kong people who are determined to devote themselves to scientific research. The PolyU revealed that since the announcement of the selection news, scholars on campus have responded enthusiastically, with many qualified research assistant professors and postdoctoral researchers. The Poly Congress fully cooperates with the selection of the SAR government, encourages outstanding young scholars who are determined to contribute to the national manned space industry to participate, and recommends capable candidates. At the same time, continue to strengthen scientific research in different fields, actively participate in national aerospace missions, and make new contributions to the development of the national aerospace science and technology industry.

PolyU Precision Engineering Lecture Professor Rong Qiliang pointed out that becoming an astronaut enters space is actually the most effective channel for participating in space. Now Hong Kong people have the opportunity to participate in the selection, and may board the space station in the future, conduct experiments, etc., which plays a great role in promoting the development of Hong Kong's scientific research. He said that the selected Hong Kong experts in the future may have the opportunity to bring some Hong Kong's relatively unique research to the space station for experiments, which further highlights the significance of this selection.
Hong Kong University of Science and Technology said that he is still understanding the specific details of the relevant selection work. If necessary, he will fully cooperate with the SAR government's primary election work. He hopes that the selection will help promote research in the field of aerospace in Hong Kong. Hong Kong City University said it will study the details of the project. Hong Kong University of Education said it will actively promote the program on campus and will distribute the latest information to teaching and research staff, encouraging them to broaden their horizons and contribute to the country.
Hong Kong Metropolitan University stated that it will actively support the relevant plans, and eligible applicants will be able to recommend participating in government primary election recruitment through self-recommendation or recommendation methods after internal selection. Wang Fuli, dean of the Duda University School of Science and Technology, said that the country's first selection of load experts in Hong Kong is of great historic significance and is believed to encourage young people to pursue their dreams on the road of scientific research. Hong Kong Baptist University will encourage and support interested and qualified scientific researchers on campus to participate in the selection, and will be delighted by the national selection of payload experts in Hong Kong to participate in the aerospace engineering. It described it as a recognition of the country's strength in Hong Kong's scientific community and its long-term contribution to the field of high-end scientific research.
Sun Dong, Director of the Innovation and Technology and Industry Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, who is responsible for the specific selection work, previously introduced in an exclusive interview with Shenzhen TV Direct News reporter Qiu Qianyi, who introduced that Hong Kong has traditionally been relatively strong in the field of basic scientific research, and there are a large number of talents engaged in scientific research, so it meets the basic conditions for selecting load experts. In the field of space and aerospace, if there is no obvious industry demand, it will be affected to a certain extent from students applying for majors to scientific research projects engaged in by scientific researchers. Sun Dong pointed out, "Now taking this opportunity, there are finally people in Hong Kong who can participate in the selection of payload experts. At the same time, Hong Kong's aerospace technology industry has also developed in recent years, which will create an important demand. I believe that in the future, whether it is the education arrangement of relevant courses in our university, the training of our middle school STEM education (science, technology, engineering and mathematics education), including the establishment of scientific research projects in the future, and the development of the science and technology industry will have a great promotion process."
Sun Dong also hopes that with the continuous progress of Hong Kong's aerospace science and technology industry, the position of aerospace engineer will also have the opportunity to be selected in Hong Kong in the near future. He emphasized that with the great progress of Hong Kong's innovative technology, some Hong Kong's scientific research teams have participated in the national aerospace missions many times in recent years, which also allows Hong Kong to have certain conditions to participate in the national aerospace missions more deeply. Sun Dong sighed: "This is also the time to develop to a certain extent. Hong Kong finally has the opportunity to participate in the country's aerospace development cause."
Hong Kong citizens chased and photographed Tiangong
In the next few days, all Hong Kong in China will be able to observe the transit of China Space Station (Tiangong) in Hong Kong. Yesterday (5th) evening is the best time to observe and shoot in recent times. At around 18:50, the Chinese Space Station (Tiangong) quickly swept over Hong Kong. At this time, the brightness of space station reaches -1.2, which is almost the same as the brightest star in the night sky.
Tiangong crosses the port and also triggers citizens to chase and shoot. A reporter from Hong Kong Wenhui.com not only squatted at Tiangong to pass the port, but also made a detailed "strategy", listing the time, brightness, altitude and shooting tips for Tiangong to pass the port. "Dian News" shares photos shared by readers, indicating that it can be easily observed with the naked eye alone.
Li Jiachao: Promoting Hong Kong to become the core engine of regional development
Li Jiachao pointed out that as a highly outward-oriented economy, Hong Kong's economic environment is affected by factors such as external trade frictions and the new crown epidemic. However, having the unique institutional advantage of ", one country, two systems, ", backed by the motherland and connected the world, is also the cornerstone of Hong Kong's success in overcoming various difficulties and challenges and getting stronger. Li Jiachao said that Hong Kong is the world's most free economy, the world's largest offshore RMB center, with five top 100 universities in the world, and the world's number one in air cargo volume. Looking forward to the future, we will continue to consolidate our traditional core advantages, and will also make every effort to develop emerging industries such as innovative technology, culture and art, create endless momentum for Hong Kong's economy and strengthen the foundation of the real economy.
