Zeng Yiwen:

Strong observation and unique insights

Discovered the "secret" of the hoe

Zeng Yiwen, 12 years old, a sixth-grade student of Yubei District Experimental Primary School, has won the first prize of 33rd National Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition , the title of "Little Academician" of the 13th Chinese Academy of Youth Science, and the 6th Yubei District Youth Science and Technology Innovation District Mayor Award.

Zeng Yiwen has a wide range of interests and is experts in technology, learning, art, dance, music, and writing. At the award ceremony of

, she showed her two papers, namely "Exploring the Secrets of Traditional Rice Planting in Yulinhe Basin" and "Exploring the Hoe of Traditional Bayi Farm Tools".

"My grandparents and grandparents all live in the countryside. When I was a child, I often went to their house and found that almost all the hoes were indispensable to growing crops." Zeng Yiwen said, "I became interested in hoes at that time. Later, when I searched online, I found that hoes also had various types, which once again enhanced my interest, so I decided to write such a paper."

Zeng Yiwen said that she first read the relevant content online, and then went to the Southwest University Library and other places to check the information. After the relevant content was basically formed in her mind, she began to conduct on-site investigations.

"I went to the rural areas of Tongjing, visited many farmers, and separated their hoes." Zeng Yiwen said that with the assistance of her science and technology tutor Feng Zongde, she did experiments and models, and completed the award-winning paper step by step.

"She is a child with strong observation skills, and has his own unique insights into things." Zeng Linghua is Zeng Yiwen's father and a Chinese teacher. He said that from many details, he found that the child has a keen observation and unique insights, so he began to cultivate her interest in technology.

Feng Luqiao:

Like to go to the laboratory for vacation and play

Get inspiration from toy whistle

Feng Luqiao, 19 years old, currently studying at Leicester International College of Dalian University of Technology, and has won the highest award of the 33rd National Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition "Chairman Award of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology", the first prize of the 33rd National Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition, the 13th Chongqing Soong Ching Ling Children's Invention Award, etc.

Feng Luqiao has liked to explore boldly since he was a child and is willing to communicate with others. At the award ceremony, the work she brought was called "Research on the Structure and Application of Whistle-shaped Energy Supply Device Based on the Principle of Tribological Electricity Generation".

"In recent years, smart wearables, portable blood pressure instruments, etc. have been common. These devices often need to be charged, and it is inconvenient when there is no power supply. When I was in middle school, I learned the knowledge of frictional electricity production in physics class, and I wondered if I could design a portable and simple charging device for this purpose." Feng Luqiao said.

Under the leadership of technology teacher Liu Chao, Feng Luqiao consulted a large amount of information. "I decided to find common, cheap and lightweight materials in my life to design this device. Later, under the guidance of Professor Hu Chengguo from Chongqing University , I was inspired by a toy whistle that I often came into contact with when I was a child," said Feng Luqiao.

"In my opinion, this device has great application potential and space in the fields of future health monitoring, smart wearables and emergency power supply." Feng Luqiao said.

"When she was a child, she liked to dismantle toys. All kinds of mechanical toys can be dismantled. Once, a friend brought her a car model from South Korea, and it was dismantled a few days later." Feng Luqiao's mother Qiao Xiaoming said that Feng Luqiao's father is a university teacher and usually tells her a lot of knowledge about science and technology. "Sometimes the school is in winter and summer vacations, she will follow her father to the laboratory to see them do experiments."

Yin Yizhen:

Invented automatic drift clearer

Don’t want to make drift clearer

Yin Yizhen, 15 years old, is currently studying at Chongqing Famous Schools United Middle School . He has won the first prize of the 33rd and 34th National Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition, won the first prize of the 33rd and 34th Chongqing Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition, and has 3 national patents.

Yin Yizhen is from the famous high school in Chongqing. She is only 15 years old and is already 1.7 meters tall. "When I was in elementary school, I saw that the work of the drift cleaning workers in the river was too hard, so I came up with a drift cleaning device." Yin Yizhen told reporters that he wanted to invent a device that not only automatically collects garbage on the water surface, but also works in special areas of the water flow environment. "The invention of this drift cleaning device started during the summer vacation of the fifth grade of elementary school. It took four years to make it."

reporter learned that such an automated equipment is not difficult for a primary school student. "In this process, I don't understand a lot of knowledge, so I can only learn slowly. Later, through the teacher's introduction, I found the guidance of the research teacher at Chongqing University, and finally made this product."

As early as July 2016, Yin Yizhen's invention had obtained the national utility model patent. Now some products have been accepted and will be put into use in some fields. "In the future, I hope to add more artificial intelligence technologies to the products and continue to be updated."

Yin Yizhen also likes art very much. When she was 10 years old, she brought her calligraphy and painting works to the back garden of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris to participate in the first Chinese Youth "Art Star" European Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition.
