Recently, the General Office of the Ministry of Education issued the "Notice on Announcement of the List of National Typical Experiences of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in 2019". This year, 50 Universities with Typical Experiences of Innovation and Entrepreneurship were selected nationwide, including 8 universities under the central department, 31 provincial undergraduate colleges and 11 higher vocational colleges and universities. Nankai University ranks among them and is also the only selected unit of Tianjin universities.

In terms of innovation and entrepreneurship, Nankai University has built a practice-oriented innovation and entrepreneurship education system based on talent training, focusing on the integration of specialization and innovation, serving the national strategy.
As a century-old famous school, Nankai University adheres to the principle of cultivating morality and cultivating people first, and takes promoting "public energy" quality education as the main line, establishes an innovation and entrepreneurship work leading group, and allocates nearly 80 million yuan each year for innovation and entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurship guidance services.
Nankai University specifically encourages students to pay attention to the national economy and people's livelihood, serve major strategies, cultivate the core socialist values in innovation and entrepreneurship, and public welfare entrepreneurs such as "Mr. Chuang", "Farmer Dream Comes Real", and "Tu Meng" have emerged. Among them, the "Agricultural Dream Comes Real" project sells more than 130 specialty agricultural products in poor areas, achieving sales of more than 30 million yuan.
Nankai University is the first batch of "National College Practical Education Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base", "National Demonstration Universities for Deepening Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Reform", and the first batch of "China-US Youth Maker Exchange Center" of the Ministry of Education. It was approved as a demonstration base for practical education in Tianjin. It is the initiator of the Tianjin College Co-creation Space Alliance.

The national selection of typical colleges and universities for innovation and entrepreneurship is organized by the Ministry of Education, aiming to thoroughly implement the important decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council on doing a good job in innovation and entrepreneurship for college students, actively play a leading role in typical cases, and promote colleges and universities across the country to further deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education and improve the level of entrepreneurship guidance and services. Since its launch in January this year, the selection has been conducted through school summary, recommendation and application, expert preliminary selection, online evaluation, sampling survey and field research.
In 2019, a total of 120 universities applied for, 55 universities entered the field research, and finally 50 universities were shortlisted for the top 50 universities with typical experience in innovation and entrepreneurship.
