Oubaoan and his disciple Liu Changsheng

Oubaoan, sometimes also wrote Oubaoshan and Oubaocan, whose real name is Ou Shaojiu; born in Beijing in 1911.

He had an unfortunate childhood: he lost his mother at the age of two. But his father loved him very much. Even though his family was not rich, he was a little older and sent him to a private school for three years. This laid the foundation for his later creations.

1923, Oubaocan entered Guangde Lou Binqing Class to study Peking Opera and attack Jingxing. There is also a saying that he entered the Peking Opera class when he was 10 years old in 1921.

There are many crosstalk actors who have changed from Peking Opera to crosstalk, such as Hou Baolin, Chang Lian'an, etc., who all studied Peking Opera when they were young, but because they turned to crosstalk because they were in trouble. Opelcan also changed his career. It was not because of a loss of position, but because of an accident in the performance: when performing "The Golden Leopard" in Shenyang, he was unfortunately tripped and broke his leg due to somersault and broke his right hip, resulting in lifelong disability. So, he was forced to change his career and studied crosstalk and became a disciple of Li Shouzeng.

1935, Opelcan left Tianjin and began to tour the country, and went to Qinhuangdao, Peiping, Shijiazhuang, Zhengzhou, Kaifeng, Chongqing, Chengdu, Changsha, Nanning and other places. During the Anti-Japanese War, Ou Baocan and his apprentice Dong Changlu went to Sichuan, Shaanxi, Yunnan, Guizhou and other places, while performing their skills, while promoting anti-Japanese war. At this time, the jokes he performed were all red jokes, such as "Lugou Bridge Battle", "European War Storm", "Mid-Autumn Mooncake", "Taierzhuang Battle", "Sakura Conference", "Strange Diseases and Treatment", etc. When Oubaoan performed these new anti-Japanese jokes, he had a very good partner, that is, the writer Lao She. Of course, Oubaocan Taiping, who was born in Peking Opera, is also very good at lyrics. "The Formation of the Condor Heritage", "Han Xin's fortune telling", "Qin Qiong's Formation" and so on are all very popular with the audience.

1950, Opelcan established the Qianliqu Technology Society in Guiyang, Guizhou and served as the president. After the establishment of Guiyang Quyi Troupe, he served as the leader.

1952, Marshal He Long appointed generals and Oubaoan participated in the second condolence group to North Korea.

1987, Opelcan passed away at the age of 76.

Oppercan is also an artist with creative talents, and once burned the old one under the pseudonym.

Oubaocan accepts disciples Dong Changlu, Liu Changsheng, Yang Changming, Sui Changxin, etc. Dong Changlu has the nickname "Little Di Li"; in addition, Oubaocan also accepted several female apprentices, namely Xiao Haitang (Ding Wei), Xiaoping, and Xiao Bozi (Sisters Li Qianghua and Li Weihua).

Oppercan is the pioneer of Guiyang crosstalk.
