The reporter learned from the Shijingshan District Garden Bureau on the 24th that the original Shougang Factory East Gate Greenland Park has basically been completed and will be opened before the 11th. Metal silo sculptures, sports corridor slow-moving systems, etc. will be built to meet the fitness needs of citizens while leaving behind the warm memories of the old Shougang employees.
Shougang Factory Dongmen Greenland Park is located in the western section of Shijingshan Road, the west extension line of Chang'an Street, adjacent to the west extension line in the north, and on the south side is the Shougang Second Steelmaking Plant District, to the west, to Shougang Design Institute, and to the east of China Merchants Bank. Since the park is located close to the original location of the East Gate Gate of Shougang, it was named Factory Dongmen Greenland Park. Many old Shougang employees and local residents of Shijingshan are very familiar with this name. A highlight of
Park is that it retains the landscape node of "Shougang Memory" and uses heavy steel plate materials to build a large silo sculpture. The mottled rust-colored tough metal material is directly exposed, and the image of an eagle spreading its wings is hollowed out on it, echoing the iconic eagle sculpture that once stood at the east gate of Shougang Factory, becoming a warm memory of many old Shougang people. Zhai Yuan, head of the Gardening Section of the Landscape Bureau of Shijingshan District, introduced that this area was originally composed of more than 20,000 square meters of green space and some asphalt roads under the jurisdiction of Shougang Greening Company. After the handover, Shijingshan District decided to carry out overall transformation and upgrading of the green space to create a comprehensive urban forest park, so that the park can be revitalized with new vitality. The area of this rectification and upgrading is about 3.55 hectares, forming a forest park with a length of 600 meters and a depth of 60 meters. It is opposite to Xin'an Forest Park on the north side of the Chang'an Street extension line, and is connected with the landscape green belt in the Shougang Factory area.
Zhai Yuan introduced that the original Chinese Sophora street trees are neat and full of crowns, and the evergreen tree is of high quality, large specifications, and has good foundation, but the trees are chaotic in form, poses safety hazards, and the landscape facilities are outdated, which is inconsistent with the overall modern atmosphere of Chang'an Street and New Shougang. During the transformation and upgrading, Shijingshan District will retain the original good greening foundation to the greatest extent, organize spaces of the original green space, clean up miscellaneous and dead trees, retain trees with good posture, comb the shrub levels, increase ground cover layered plants, and enrich plant species in terms of seasonality and color, green leaves such as spotted leaves, calamus, flower-leaf reeds and bamboo , and flower plants such as iris, thousand-degree cabbage , drunken fish grass , canna, etc.
In addition, the rectification focuses on adding leisure and entertainment service facilities to facilitate people's play. During the period, the landscape and leisure facilities such as tree-lined trails, leisure platforms, ladder squares, urban gardens, breeze lawns, viewing corridors, sports nodes, etc. will be distributed. The entrances and exits will be added, the connection between the landscape belt and urban roads will be strengthened, and night view lighting facilities will be installed, so as to give the green belt new functional attributes. In addition, the park has used the original paths to build a rich slow-moving system such as sports corridors to facilitate tourists to run, exercise, cycling, etc., to shuttle through the green landscape and enjoy the beauty of green travel.
At present, the Dongmen Greenland Park of Shougang Factory has been basically completed and will officially open before the National Day. In addition, Shijingshan District is implementing the construction of the West Axis Forest Landscape Park Group. At present, the renovation and upgrading projects of Laoshan Urban Leisure Park, Beijing International Sculpture Park, and Amusement Park South Square have been completed. Six projects including Xin'an Park, Langyuan, Laoshan Urban Leisure Park South District, Songlin Park, Wangjing Park, and Shougang Factory East Gate Greenland are under intense construction and will meet with citizens one after another.
