On the morning of February 1, 2021, the Fourth Highway Brigade of the Traffic Police Detachment of Heyuan Municipal Public Security Bureau cracked a highway "borrow money" and refueling fraud case. The fraud suspect Zhu Mouping (female, 44 years old, from Anhui) has been transferred to the Waxi Police Station of Zijin County Public Security Bureau for further investigation.
Since the Spring Festival travel rush on January 18, the Fourth Brigade of the Expressway has received a call from the police, saying that in the Shanzhan Expressway, a young woman was waving to stop the car and suspected of cheating money in the name of borrowing money to refuel.
At 9:56 am on February 1, the Third Squadron of the Service of the Fourth Brigade of the Expressway received another order from the Municipal Bureau's Information Center, saying that a driver called the police. A BMW was parked on the ramp in the direction of the Waxi Interchange of Shanzhan Expressway to Huizhou and a woman waved to passing vehicles on the side of the road. After asking the caller Mr. Liu, he learned that he saw a BMW parked on the side of the road. A woman waved to him on the side of the road. The kind-hearted Mr. Liu immediately stopped the car. The woman said that her car had no gas and had no cash on her body. She borrowed money from Mr. Liu and asked to add Mr. Liu on WeChat to promise to repay the money to Mr. Liu.
The police went to deal with it immediately. The police and auxiliary police of the task force were wearing plainclothes and driving civilian cars to approach the suspect. The police car was carrying out safety warning measures behind. Sure enough, they saw a woman wave to the plainclothes team member. After the plainclothes team member stopped the car, the woman decided to get in the car and escape, but was not successfully arrested by the task force police. The crime tool mobile phone (two-dimensional collection code), sticky notes and pen were also seized on the woman. At present, the case has been handed over to the Waxi Police Station of Zijin County Public Security Bureau for further investigation.
Similar scams have appeared in many places across the country
Search online and found that since last year, there have been reports of fraud in stopping cars and borrowing money on the side of the expressway.
Traffic police summarized the characteristics of scammers:
1. Drive luxury cars such as Mercedes-Benz;
2. Beauties or elderly people are responsible for waving and cheating;
3. They are all on the grounds of lack of gas money and tolls;
4. The amount of fraud is not large, ranging from 150 yuan to 400 yuan;
5. Most of them are on the main line entrance and exit ramp or service area, so it is easier to stop a car;
6. There is always a young man in the car, who is generally responsible for driving, which is convenient for quick escape.
