Since ancient times, the Hulunbuir region has been a big stage for activities of ethnic minorities in the north. It has a long history, numerous ethnic groups, rich cultural relics and splendid culture. It is an important part of Chinese civilization and a place that has attracted much attention from historical archaeologists, scholars from all walks of life and tourists.
The construction of Hulunbuir History Museum will fully demonstrate the splendid civilization of the historical cradle of hunting nations and grassland nomadic peoples in the north, and make greater contributions to strengthening cultural confidence, forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation, and promoting the integration and diversity of the Chinese nation and ethnic integration. To this end, the project was listed as one of the key projects of the autonomous region in 2019 and was written into the government work report. It was highly valued by the municipal party committee and government and is of great significance.
The construction of Hulunbuir History Museum is not only a need for the overall development of the city, but also a need to enhance Hulunbuir cultural soft power and influence, display cultural relics resources in Hulunbuir region, and develop Hulunbuir Museum cause, and also meet the needs of the people's spiritual and cultural life.
Hulunbuir History Museum is located in Hulunbuir Central Cultural Park, north of Wenhua Street, west of Wenhua Third Road, and east of the Municipal Planning Museum. The total investment of the project is RMB 533.77 million, covering an area of RMB 46,661 square meters, a total construction area of RMB 38,000 square meters, 1 underground floor and 3 above ground floor. There are 12 exhibition halls in the museum, including the Hulunbuir exhibition hall in the prehistoric period, the Hulunbuir exhibition hall in the summer solstice, the Hulunbuir exhibition hall in the northern and southern dynasties, the Hulunbuir exhibition hall in the Sui, Tang, Liao and Jin dynasties, the Hulunbuir exhibition hall in the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, the Hulunbuir exhibition hall in the modern and modern times, the digital exhibition hall of cultural relics, the intangible cultural heritage exhibition hall, the Hulunbuir history exhibition hall of the Communist Party of China, the Huanmu Cinema and three temporary exhibition halls.
Hulunbuir History Museum construction project completed the capping of the main building on July 7, 2020, and completed the warm closure on October 30 of the same year, entering the winter construction stage. With the strong support of the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, the project is planned to complete all construction content and be opened to the public on December 10, 2021.
