According to information released by the Cuban Meteorological Research Institute, Hurricane "Ian" landed in La Coloma, a city in the southern city of Binaldrio Province in the western part of Cuba at around 3:24 local time on September 27, and was upgraded to a Category 3 hurricane before landing in Cuba. The Hurricane Center landed in Cuba around 4:30 with a maximum sustained wind speed of 205 kilometers per hour and moved northward at a speed of 19 kilometers per hour. At around 10:30 am that day, Category 3 Hurricane Ian left the country's territory from the northern coast of Binaldrio Province after crossing Cuba, and gradually moved towards the southeast of Gulf of Mexico . The intensity of the hurricane weakened after leaving Cuba, and the current wind speed is 185 kilometers per hour.
Hurricane Ian ravaged Cuba and caused strong winds and rainfall in many western provinces, flooding occurred in coastal towns in Binaldrio Province, with rainfall exceeding 200 mm within 6 hours. Affected by the hurricane, some houses, trees, crops and power systems in the western part of the country have been severely damaged, and no casualties have been reported so far.
