Taichung Commercial Bank's corporate headquarters "Taichung Diamond", designed by Aedas, just won the WAF award (future comprehensive project category) known as the "Academic Oscar in the Architecture World) at , Amsterdam, Netherlands, , the Netherlands.
Taichung Commercial Bank's corporate headquarters "Taichung Diamond", designed by Aedas Chairman and Global Design Director Keith Griffiths (Jidav), is located in the Taichung Commercial Center. It is a building up to 200 meters high. The project consists of the office space and a luxury hotel at the headquarters of Taichung Commercial Bank. The project design concept is based on the word "Zhong" of Taichung Commercial Bank. Instead of stacking all large functional areas in a single tower, the design created two "separated" towers, with vertical spaces in the middle connecting them and accommodating large facilities. The design places a series of "floating" transparent glass boxes in the space between the two towers to accommodate various business functions such as exhibition areas, sky gardens, conference facilities, banquet halls and swimming pools. This unique design not only gives the building a richer appearance, but also creates a striking architectural landmark next to the main road in the area. The rooftop terrace features a restaurant and VIP club, along with an outdoor green terrace, provides visitors with excellent balcony space and magnificent city views.
This project also won the 2018 MIPIM "Architecture Evaluation" magazine Future Project Award in France early this year, beating hundreds of participating projects from all over the world and winning the high-rise building win .
