This year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 69th anniversary of the liberation of Zhoushan. Last night, Dinghai District Huannan Street, together with Dinghai District Drama Singing Association, held a literary evening to celebrate the 69th anniversary of the liberation of Zhoushan. Literary and art enthusiasts use wonderful programs to celebrate Zhoushan’s “rebirth” anniversary, sing the prosperity of the motherland and the ever-changing changes in their hometown.

The evening party kicked off with the chorus performance of "Singing the Motherland". Two veteran cadres of the Liberation War, Tang Kaihong and Hong Tian, walked onto the stage with the help of the actors. Two Young Pioneers put red scarves on the veterans and sent flowers. Tang Kaihong and Hong Tian had big red flowers hanging on their chests. They raised their right hands excitedly and saluted the audience solemnly. The audience couldn't help but applaud and salute the veterans.

In the wonderful waist drum performance, more than a dozen dancers beat the waist drum while changing their dance steps. As the formation stretches and gathers, the charm of Chinese drums is fully displayed, and the audience cheers from time to time. Afterwards, diabolo performance, sailor dance , Peking Opera performance, cheongsam show and other programs were staged one after another, bringing an audio-visual feast to the audience.

91-year-old Tang Kaihong uses his mobile phone to record wonderful shots from time to time. He told reporters that he was invited to participate in the literary party celebrating the 69th anniversary of Zhoushan's liberation, and was very moved. Recalling those glorious years, Tang Kaihong said: "Warning on the front is just to fulfill our military responsibilities, which is what we should do. We can do today all rely on those old comrades who sacrificed their lives for the country. We should always remember them." Tang Kaihong is from Hangzhou. He moved from Guangzhou to Zhoushan with his troops and lived there for more than 60 years. "I remember when I first arrived in Zhoushan, Renmin Road was still a very narrow road, the pier was very small, and the transportation was very inconvenient. Now it has changed everywhere and I can't recognize it." Tang Kaihong said with a smile that we were also excited to see the country's development so well.

May 17, 1950, is a day worth remembering for all Zhoushan people. 69 years ago today, the heroic People's Liberation Army rushed to cross the sea, fought bloody battles, and the brave Zhoushan people enthusiastically supported and fought together, inserting the bright five-star red flag into Zhoushan Islands , and since then, a new chapter of Zhoushan's development and progress has been opened. Yao Rong, deputy secretary of the Party Working Committee of Huannan Street, Dinghai District, told reporters: "On this special day, the streets jointly with the Drama Singing Association, hoping to tell the great changes brought about by the 69th anniversary of Zhoushan's liberation in an artistic expression form that the masses like. At the same time, it calls on citizens to remember history, draw strength, and look to the future with pride."
