Cities are the product of social development. Influenced by nature, economy and society, the development of cities shows different states of rise and fall at different stages. An obvious truth is that all things are prosperous and declining, and hope and rebirth are nurtured in decline. History goes back and forth, and the fate of the city is like a duckweed leaf, rising and falling with the waves of history. In the long history, we have seen too many dynasties and the rise and fall of cities. There are always some places in the city. The decline is like the reversal of time and space, as if it has entered another world, which makes people sigh.
Let’s take a look at these places in Xi’an that were once prosperous but now seem a little lonely!
1.Changle Park

Changle Park was the predecessor of Hansenzhai nursery established in 1956, covering an area of 333.33 acres. It was one of the largest nurseries in Xi'an at that time. In 1976, in order to place a batch of tropical animals donated by Japan, Hansenzhai Nursery was converted into a Xi'an Zoo and officially opened to tourists in 1977. Since then, it has become a landmark in the eastern suburbs of Xi'an.
In 2004, due to space restrictions and the increase in the number of animals, the original area could no longer meet the needs. For this reason, Xi'an established Qinling wild, and moved all the original animals to the Qinling ridge.
Starting from 2005, the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government have successively invested 22 million yuan to transform Changle Park, gradually demolished various facilities for animals in the park, and built 9 new attractions including Hehuan Garden, Cherry Blossom Forest, Footprint Square, and Twelve Zodiac Signs. The garden square and green space totaled 136.5 million square meters. It has been officially named Changle Park and was opened to citizens for free in January 2006.
The old zoo where the crowd gathered in the past has changed. Many locals can still talk about it when they recall it, but they will sigh and regret it.
2. Yuxiang Gate
Yuxiang Gate is located north of the west gate of Xi'an City Wall . In 1927, in order to facilitate transportation, this door was built specially for the bright city wall. The name of this sect comes from the name of General Feng Yuxiang .

Today's Yuxiang Gate cannot be linked to the prosperity of the past, leaving only the vicissitudes of history. The wholesale market is just a noisy big market, and it is simply incomparable to the bustling commercial center.3. Wenyi Road
Xi'an Wenyi Road is full of a strong cultural atmosphere. On its north end are the theaters and cinemas gathered. The southern section is the cloth market. The northernmost end of the road is connected to Wenchangmen Ringcheng Park. The Xi'an Mass Art Museum, located at No. 1, Jiazi, Northkou Road, is the first venue of the Wenyi Road Art Tour. It held a 3,000-person art performance in 1959. After more than 50 years, it gradually established literary and artistic groups such as the Pomegranate Flower Children's Art Troupe and Xinghai Choir. To the south are the Provincial Peking Opera Troupe, Provincial Song and Dance Theater, and Provincial Opera Research Institute. The area bounded by the Cross of Wenyi Road began to develop into a super cloth market, and vendors sold along the streets. Wenyi North Road is close to the west side of the road crossing Wenyi Road, and is the HR market for foreign personnel in Beilin District. At the southernmost point is the Wenyi Road Flower Market.
Xi'an Fabric Market refers specifically to the Xi'an Fabric Wholesale Market near the Cross of Wenyi Road and Youyi Road. It gradually emerged in the mid-to-late 1980s, and the 1990s was its period of rapid development. Now many stores are closed, and fewer and fewer people come here to buy fabrics.
4.Kangfu Road

In 1997, the Xi'an Kangfu Road business district entered a downturn. In 2000, the I-shaped wholesale market area of Kangfu Road began to be formed, but the dilapidated operating environment restricted the development of merchants. In 2003, affected by SARS, the Kangfu Road business district began to undergo a qualitative change. Today, more than a dozen markets of all sizes gathered in the Kangfu Road business district, becoming a transit station and distribution center for goods and trade exchanges in the Northwest region. Although this once largest small commodity wholesale market in the northwest is still very lively, it can no longer be compared with many large business districts.

It is 6.6 kilometers long and is about 3.8 kilometers in line with Xi'an Metro Line 1 . It is the east-west artery of urban transportation in Xi'an. It was named "Daqing Road" for the 10th anniversary of the National Day in 1959.
Daqing Road in Xi'an was used as an isolation zone between the north industrial zone and the south residential zone in the early planning. It has vegetation greening of more than 100 meters wide and has planted many large tree shrubs. It is a representative of urban road greening in Xi'an. In the 1970s, factories were everywhere and businesses were developing rapidly. People today could no longer appreciate the glory of Daqing Road.
