On March 18, the reporter learned from the Science and Technology Popularization Department of the Municipal Association for Science and Technology that recently, our city has added 6 new units, including Zhongshan Meteorological Science Popularization Education Base, Zhongshan Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, Zhongshan Quanlin Dahe Culture, Sports and Tourism Development Co., Ltd., Harbin Institute of Technology Robot ( Zhongshan ) Co., Ltd., Zhongshan Fansha Ocean Cultural Center, and Zhongshan Chen Xinghai Hospital, which have been named "Guangdong Province Science Popularization Education Base". So far, there are 17 "Guangdong Province Popular Science Education Bases" in the city.
Recently, the Guangdong Provincial Association for Science and Technology and the Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology jointly issued the "Notice on Naming 234 Units including Guangdong Science Center as the "Guangdong Province Popular Science Education Base"". The naming of the Guangdong Provincial Popular Science Education Base is aimed at implementing the spirit of the "Notice of the General Office of the Guangdong Provincial People's Government on Issuing the Implementation Plan for the Outline of the Guangdong Provincial People's Scientific Literacy Action Plan (2016-2020)", better mobilize social forces to participate and support scientific popularization, and promote the two wings of science popularization and scientific and technological innovation to fly together.
According to the requirements of the "Guangdong Provincial Popular Science Education Base Management Measures (Trial)" and the "Notice of the Guangdong Provincial Association for Science and Technology and the Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology on Carrying out the certification of Guangdong Provincial Popular Science Education Bases", after the relevant units independently declared, the Science and Technology Associations and Science Bureaus of all cities at or above the prefecture level, relevant provincial units and provincial societies, associations, and research associations were recommended, and the Provincial Association for Science and Technology and the Provincial Department of Science and Technology organized experts to review and publicize. , the Zhongshan Meteorological Science Popularization Education Base makes full use of nearly 500 square meters of the space in the exhibition hall of the Zhongshan Meteorological Science Popularization Hall, a 1,000 square square observation field experimental base, a 300 square meters of meteorological observation station consultation room, a 300 square square emergency warning information release center and a meteorological publicity and film and television center as the base camp, and rely on "one base" to create "three major brands" and carry out a series of science popularization education activities.
The Zhongshan Traditional Chinese Medicine Cultural Center in Zhongshan Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital was established in 2010 and undergoes a new upgrade in 2017. Currently, the total construction area is 4,258 square meters, with a total investment of about 30 million construction funds, which are maintained and managed by the hospital's education department. Harbin Institute of Technology Robot Group settled in Zhongshan Cuiheng New District at the end of 2016 to establish the South China headquarters, and jointly built a double innovation base integrating scientific and technological achievements transformation, technology research and development, industrial application, talent training, and innovative enterprise cultivation.
Fail Shark Ocean Cultural Center is the largest marine aquarium in Zhongshan. The museum has more than 300 species of creatures, with a number of more than 10,000. It is a modern science and education tourism museum that focuses on displaying marine creatures and integrates popular science publicity, education, tourism and leisure.
