I think I am also a little mentally prepared. I have browsed a few posts about Taiwan these days, and the comments in them are basically in this style, so it is not surprising.

Let’s talk about it off topic. I was really surprised when I opened the client’s comment this morning. That kind of slander is overwhelming. I think I am also a little mentally prepared. I have browsed a few posts about Taiwan these days, and the comments in them are basically in this style, so it is not surprising.

What makes me happy is that there are many rational and objective voices in the comments, and I thank you here. After weighing

, I decided to write it. It is OK to understand Taiwan from the news media channels, but I want to feel it through my own eyes and personal experience. The planned itinerary will not take the regular attractions route. I hope to enter the daily lives of ordinary people and have more conversations and get to know each other. The idea is not very mature yet. After all, it is still in the stage of talking on paper. Try to go to the local morning market, night market, supermarket vegetable market, and visit some small places where tourists, especially group tourists, are not likely to go. There are also plans to hike more, measure every inch of the city with footsteps, and pay more attention to the cultural landscape.

Haha, these are still ideas, I will work hard to achieve them.

Jiufen Mountain City Night Scenery

Continue with the above, after the two certificates and one signing, the future is bright, and we start to make a strategy.

Kaohsiung Beautiful Island MRT Station

Because I have been to Taiwan many years ago, this free tour will have a little first-mover advantage. When I was doing a guide, every bit of the trip many years ago always flashed through my mind, making people laugh. After arriving in Taipei on the first day, we met Director Chen, who would accompany us throughout the journey. Director Chen was 41 years old at the time, unmarried, a veteran, and had experience studying in the United States. I thought it was strange at that time that Taiwanese people got married very late, and the birth rate on the island was extremely low. What a trap for developed regions?

Director Chen is of medium shape, gentle, knowledgeable, and professional. He always speaks gently, "report to all the guests", which is flattering. Unexpectedly, this guy is an absolute "drunk" and quickly gets along with us. We drink all day long, and the "drunk" Director Chen is not inseparable from it. We took us out to have a drink on the first night. It seemed to be a small shop, but the few dishes were extremely delicious. I can't remember the specific dishes, as if they were cold seafood or something. After a few greetings, Director Chen immediately got into the state and insisted on giving each of our table a glass of beer. In the Northeast, commonly known as "circling", the drinkers who are involved in circles are so passionate and eye-catching.

Director Chen’s circle is even more heroic. Among us, those who are not good at drinking, so they pick up the cup and take a sip. Director Chen didn’t mind at all, and he still drank it all in one go. This guy is too real. In the following wine party, no matter who proposes to drink a glass, no matter how much others drink, even if you hold the glass up symbolically and raise your hands, Director Chen will hold the glass with both hands and drink it all in one go. I won’t talk about the result, and I will vomit miserably.

Later, when he mentioned this matter to Director Chen, he smiled and said, he was a retired Marine Corps, you are VIPs, that is, my leader, the leader toasts, "soldiers" must obey orders.

Cute Director Chen.

Taipei night view

Back to the route design of this free trip to Taiwan. First of all, we need to have a general understanding of the entire island of Taiwan. The west coastline is Taipei, Taichung , Tainan, Kaohsiung, Kenting and other such. The transportation is convenient and accessible by high-speed rail. The east coastline is Taitung , Hualien, Yilan , etc., and only ordinary trains can reach it.

I don’t recommend traveling around the island in 8-10 days, it’s really tiring! Especially office workers, they come out to rest, not to get on the scene. Locals recommend only playing one block and in-depth tour. Have it a few more times.

If you are here in Taiwan for the first time, my suggestions are to the north (Taipei) and the south (Kaohsiung, Kenting). You can also choose Tainan and Taichung. Stay at least 2 days in each city, don’t rush it.

After reading a lot of guides, I initially formed my own itinerary and decided to only take the convenient western line this time. The general plan is 5 days in Taipei (including Jiufen in Pingxi), 3 days in Taichung (including Sun Moon Lake and Lugang Town ), 2 days in Tainan, 3 days in Kenting, and 2 days in Kaohsiung.

The so-called "Presidential Palace"

to make a strategy. My habit of making a big box first, then shrinking to the inner box little by little, and getting the air tickets, hotels step by step, and then to transportation, attractions, food, etc. This is a slow effort, which requires a lot of information query, which is very laborious.

But if you do this, the good effect is also very intuitive. When you get off the plane, you will get off the plane and arrive at the hotel smoothly, check into the room you like, go to the small shops that you have already stepped on, see the scenery you are looking forward to the most, etc. Everything is orderly and enjoyable.

below, we continue to improve the strategy of free travel.

Please continue to pay attention and plan to post live pictures and texts throughout the whole process.

I would like to say something about the above statement about the mainland being "domestic" was caused by my negligence. I sincerely apologize for my negligence.
