Previously, when the "Yushan" ship was tested in the dock in June this year, water in the cabin was caused by "ignoring precautions" during operation, and the relevant system lines were also soaked in seawater. This "serious loss" was nicknamed by the outside world, "Buy a new car but hand over the repaired water truck ". After that, after being processed by the Taiwan ship, the ship was only handed over to the ship after passing the acceptance by the Taiwan Navy and the Taiwan Defense Department. Taiwan Navy officials confirmed that they had negotiated with Taiwan ships on extending the warranty period and accepting the price reduction.
Taiwan media introduced that the "Yushan" ship (LPD-1401) is named after Yushan, the highest peak in Taiwan. It has a total length of 153 meters, a width of 23 meters, a full load displacement of 10,600 tons, a maximum speed of 21.5 knots, and an actual measurement of 22.1 knots. Taiwan Shipping Company was commissioned to undertake a new dock transport ship for the Taiwan Navy more than four years ago.
"Yushan" ship delivery ceremony was held on the 30th. In his speech, Zheng Wenlong said that the ship is designed to carry landing vehicles, landing craft , helicopters, ammunition, materials and perform medical rescue functions, and has special functions such as hiding appearance, electromagnetic pulse protection, and intelligent strip water system. It can provide the Taiwan Navy with offshore material transportation and personnel delivery. In addition, if natural disaster is encountered, the ship can also perform disaster relief, temporary field hospitals and international humanitarian rescue. If it is during war, due to its complete air defense and self-defense combat capabilities on the sea, the "Yushan" ship can independently carry out amphibious operations in the outer sea for a long time, perform reinforcements, support and return to offshore combat tasks, and serve as a maritime mobile field hospital.
Zheng Wenlong said that in addition to the "Yushan" ship, there are five LCM landing boats in this case. These five boats are made of 5383 all-aluminum alloy material. Different from the traditional flat bottom type and V-shaped bottom design, the ship speed is higher than 21 knots at full load, and the fuel consumption and ship speed are better than the Taiwan Navy's demand specifications.
He said that the main function of LCM is to land and grab the beach in wartime, and can usually support the transportation and replenishment of offshore military supplies and daily necessities. The deck space inside the boat can be equipped with two Hummer or a 15-ton wheeler. Four of the five LCMs will be placed in the "Yushan" dock trough, and one will be available for shore use.
