On September 1 last year, Honda was the first to release it in the European market. The 2022 CB500 series models, the updates of the new models are mainly focused on configurations, and many highly criticized configurations are finally willing to upgrade!
2022 CB500 series main updates include: upgraded to 41mm Showa SFF-BP inverted front fork, upgraded to radially installed Nissin dual-piston calipers, upgraded to 296mm front dual discs. It features lighter wheels and swingarms, aluminum pedals, new radiator, CBR500R/CB500F with lighter 5-spoke wheels (previously 6-spoke), and more.
Honda CBR500R
CBR500R has slightly changed appearance. The new model uses headlights similar to CBR650R, with more consistent family features and new color matching. After changing into the SHOWA SFF-BP golden inverted front fork, it looks more like the eldest brother CBR650R. The front brake has been upgraded to 296mm dual-disc + radial calipers, which has a much higher squidity, but its weight is still not light, and the 192kg seems to have no consideration for lightweighting at all.
Honda CB500F
In addition to the same hardware upgrades as several other brothers, the appearance of the new Honda CB500F is not much different from the current model. It mainly improves the LED headlights and improves the illuminance of high beam/low beam. The seat height is as low as 789mm, and it is replaced with the same front fender and aluminum foot pedals of the CB650R.
Honda CB500X
hardware upgrade is the same as the other two brother models, except that the front and rear shock absorption travel is longer. The new CB500X comes with a windshield with two height adjustables, redesigned with 19-inch cast aluminum front wheels, which are lighter in weight and reduce unsprung mass for improved steering capability. The new fenders are stronger and the chain guard is also redesigned. However, the 199 kg curb weight is 2 kg heavier than the old model. What is currently impossible to determine is whether the domestic version introduced is consistent with the foreign version, and whether there will be any problems such as the configuration castration power shrinkage.
