Apple may add the first MacBook Pro with Touch Bar to the list of outdated products
According to MacRumors, Apple said in an internal memo shared with Apple Store and Apple authorized service providers this week that it will add the first 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro models with Touch Bar to its outdated product list on July 31.
The first MacBook Pro models equipped with touch bar were released in October 2016, a generation that has completely redesigned the MacBook Pro. Other new features include a thinner and lighter body, a much-maligned butterfly keyboard, a Touch ID, a larger trackpad, and aggressively removing all interfaces except the lightning interface and headphone jack.
Apple's latest 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro have removed the Touch Bar, but the feature is still available on the 13-inch MacBook Pro. The memo obtained by

Apple will generally add the product to the outdated product list after 5 years of discontinuing the product. The first batch of MacBook Pros with Touch Bar were discontinued in June 2017, so it has reached the 5-year deadline.
All outdated products lose their qualifications for Apple repairs by mid-2018, but Apple Store and Apple authorized service providers can now provide up to two years of repair service after the device is classified as an outdated product, depending on the availability of the parts.
According to the memo, Apple will also add the first generation iPad mini released in 2012 to the list of truly outdated products on July 31, because it has been discontinued for 7 years, so even extended repair services are not possible.
