Since the Thai government opened up the tourism industry, the number of foreign tourists at Suvarnabhumi Airport has increased from 270,000/month at the beginning of 2022 to more than 1 million/month.
In addition, according to forecasts, the throughput of Suvarnabhumi Airport will reach 22 million passengers in 2022. According to the evaluation by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand, the average tourism expenditure per inbound tourist is about 48,000 baht, which will generate 326 billion baht for Thailand, and this figure will increase to 565.45 billion baht in 2023, which will bring 1.34 trillion baht to Thailand by then.
