As for how these companies obtain user information? Facebook mentioned that when a company wants to lock in specific users to place advertisements, it will use FB's "Custom Audiences" tool to find the target user, which may also be purchased from Acxiom, the world's largest consumer business database, to use the website cookie technology, and to swipe credit cards.

Brian mentioned that another thing that surprised him was the file called "Contact Information", which contained the names and phone numbers of 764 contacts in his mobile address book. It was probably because he allowed to obtain his address book when using Messenger (Facebook even if the communication tool), so it was stored, including the phone number of the person who repaired his car and the pizza restaurant, as well as the number of the doorbell intercom at the residence.
