Taichung’s first painted bus station is in use! In order to integrate the animation image into the city scenery and get close to the lives of citizens, the News Bureau of the Taichung Municipal Government and the local new cartoonist Hom joined hands to combine the four major characteristics of food, culture, humanity, and historical sites and the family elements of the Taichung World Flower Expo mascot family to add colorful colors to the Zhongming Primary School’s optimized bus station. It is not only the first painted bus station in the city, but also the largest painted station in Taiwan. Deputy Mayor Zhang Guangyao said that the Painted Bus Station will not only promote local culture, but also connect the emotions between people. It is hoped to be gradually promoted to other stations to beautify the city appearance, and also respond to the flower fair and create a garden city.
Deputy Mayor Zhang Guangyao attended the press conference on the opening of the Painted Optimization Bus Station today (30th), accompanied by Lin Shangxian, secretary of the Municipal Government News Bureau. He included Huang Guoshu, Xu Yongming, Qiu Suzhen, Weng Meichun, Cai Yaling, and Jiang Zhaoguojun sent representatives to attend the ceremony. Zhang Yaozhong, principal of Zhongming Primary School, and representatives in the region also participated in the event. The flower mascot Lehu and the tiger came to the scene to have fun, and the atmosphere was lively.

Zhang Guangyao thanked Hom, a local cartoonist in Taichung City for designing and creating; he said that in addition to buildings, the beautification of Taichung City has many different links of energy-saving operations. Zhongming Primary School optimizes the bus station to present the historical and cultural characteristics of Taichung City in beautiful colors, which not only promotes local culture, but also connects the emotions between people. In addition, it is also combined with the mascot image of the 2018 Taichung World Flower Expo, and encourages schools, enterprises and other adoptive stations to be painted in the future. We hope to gradually practice the "1+2+10+N" concept, expand the benefits brought by the flower fair, and make Taichung beautiful and become a garden city.
was selected as the village cartoonist of the "French Angulan International Comic Festival" from 2017 to 2018. The design concept points out that this creation takes the common memory of Taichung people as the main axis. The design takes about 3 weeks and the painting period also lasts about 3 weeks. Combining the image of the new and old inheritance, it integrates well-known attractions such as Taichung Opera House, Intercontinental Baseball Cultural and Creative Park, Xinshe, as well as historical sites, Lake Pavilion, Taichung Prefecture Hall, Wufeng Farmers Association Winery, etc., as well as sun cakes, pineapple pastry and other delicacies. We hope to bring vitality and joy to everyone through colorful comic paintings.

In addition, Hom also said that the painting also presents the white-eared thrush, a bird that is endemic to Taichung Mountains, which can be seen in Taichung Mountains. In addition, in response to the 2018 Taichung Flower Expo, the mascot Shihu family and Omima are also hidden in it. Everyone is welcome to find their figures. I am very happy that Taiwanese comics can become part of the city appearance and let everyone see it.
