At 7:30 am on April 18, the 2021 Dongfeng Yueda Kia SK New Energy Yancheng Marathon officially started at Yancheng Yannan Sports Center. This marathon has three events: full marathon, half marathon, and mini marathon, which attracted about 15,000 contestants from all over the country to compete on the same stage, showing a high-level sports style.

After intense competition, Qian Dingbin and Zhu Dandan won the men's and women's full championships with 2 hours, 13 minutes, 22 seconds and 2 hours, 41 minutes, 29 seconds respectively; Wang Congzheng and Wu Haomin won the men's and women's half championships with 1 hour, 6 minutes, 03 seconds and 1 hour, 20 minutes, 31 seconds respectively. Among them, the women's and men's champions of the whole marathon both broke the competition records and will receive the permanent number directory provided by the Yancheng Marathon Organizing Committee. In addition, the total net results of the full marathon project will be ranked 418th, which will be ranked 2022 Berlin Marathon; the total net results of the half marathon project will be ranked 418th, which will be ranked 2022 Chicago Marathon .

According to the needs of epidemic prevention and control, this competition has formulated a strict epidemic prevention and control plan. The organizing committee strictly follows the relevant national epidemic prevention and control requirements, strictly implements epidemic prevention and testing standards in the process of receiving competition packages, gathering of inspections, starting ceremony, post-race evacuation, etc., and uses the Beidou positioning system and big data management system to track and handle emergencies throughout the process to ensure the safe and smooth progress of the event. In terms of security, in order to ensure the smooth flow of security inspection and inspection on the event, more than 5,000 security personnel were invested in this event. At the main venue and important intersections along the track, a number of measures have been taken to reduce the impact on citizens' travel and ensure the safety and order of the event.
In terms of medical insurance, the event organizing committee has set up detailed medical treatment emergency plans and medical treatment work plans. 14 ambulances were invested in this event, and 8 enhanced medical stations, 20 ordinary medical stations, 150 Red Cross first aid personnel, 400 medical observers and 300 emergency rescue personnel, of which 120 AED-equipped cycling rescue personnel will continue to patrol the track, and 55 emergency runners are distributed among the runner team to ensure the safety of all participants to the greatest extent.
