Taiwan's transportation department issued a press release today stating that the roads around Sun Moon Lake are prone to traffic jams during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday. Overnighters can enter Sun Moon Lake in the afternoon, and day-trippers are advised to arrive before 10 a.m.
Relevant departments also said that the consecutive Mid-Autumn Festival holidays at Cingjing Farm and Hehuan Mountain are expected to attract many tourists. In particular, Hehuan Mountain has entered the knotweed flower blooming season, and there will be an endless stream of people admiring the flowers and hiking. Due to limited parking space in the mountainous area, It is expected to be congested from 7 am to 3 pm. Passers-by are advised to arrive before 10 am if they are traveling to and from Cingjing Scenic Area on the same day, and hotel guests are advised to enter after 3 pm.
Relevant departments pointed out that if you want to go to Hehuan Mountain to enjoy the flowers, it is recommended to arrive at Hehuan Mountain Wuling before 7 a.m. to avoid the traffic and there may be parking spaces, or take public transportation to avoid the lack of parking spaces affecting the flower viewing. Interested, if tourists are unable to arrive at Wuling before 7 a.m., it is recommended to visit other scenic spots in Nantou County to avoid wasting their vacation and ruining their fun due to traffic jams.
