According to Taiwan's "Central News Agency" news on May 15, Peng Youlin, director of the Ninth Coast Guard Team of the Fleet Branch of the "Coast Patrol Administration", was interviewed and said that Wang Zhengxin, deputy director of the Fleet Branch, led the fleet to deploy the 500-ton "Taipei Ship" in the early morning. One ship and one "10039 boats" set sail from Taichung and Kinmen respectively to perform missions in the Wuqiu sea area. At around 5 o'clock, the service personnel found a mainland fishing boat 0.4 miles southwest of Wuqiu Island. After being driven away, the boat returned and was stranded.
The patrol vessel personnel immediately forcibly boarded the ship for inspection. Peng Youlin said that the "unnamed" ship seized this time had seven people on board. The captain surnamed Qiu was 58 years old and was from Shishi City, Fujian Province. The ship "crossed the border" and stranded in Wuqiu waters without permission, and was driven away several times before returning. It was suspected of violating the "Regulations on Relations between the People of the Taiwan Area and the Mainland Area", so the patrol vessel decided to seize the ship.
Peng Youlin pointed out that although the ship looked like a fishing boat, it had no fishing gear. According to the analysis, it should be a supply work ship, and it often hides in the shelter of Wuqiu waters. When he saw the coast guard drive away from the fleet, He came out again and was driven away many times but refused to listen.
Wuqiu, managed by Kinmen County , has a total area of only 1.2 square kilometers, consisting of Daqiu and Xiaoqiu islands, and the administrative district is divided into two villages. Wuqiu is 72 miles away from the main island of Kinmen, and the mainland Meizhou Island and Nanri Island are within easy reach.
