As a result, after the National Taiwan University investigation was completed, it was directly determined that he had plagiarized. Lin Zhijian immediately announced his withdrawal from the race for mayor of Taoyuan, and Cai Qichang was inevitably affected. This resulted in her support at the junior college level being only 25.3%, while Lu Xiuyan’s was 61.9%. For those with a college degree, 51.2% are for the latter and 24.2% are for the former.
Not only in Taichung City, but now the green camp’s overall electoral popularity on the island is lower than that of the blue camp. Except for a few strongholds, many counties and cities that once had close elections now favor the KMT. There are only three months left before the nine-in-one elections at the end of the year.
