The Xinmeng River extension and dredging project is one of the country’s 172 major water conservancy projects for water conservation and water supply. It is also the most intensive project in the history of water control in our city. Recently, the construction of the first bid section of the project in New Taipei District has been completed.

The New Taipei section of the Xinmeng River extension and dredging project has a total length of 25.29 kilometers, including a 2-kilometer river channel with a mouth width of 120 meters and 3 bridges. It is the first pilot demonstration river channel in the entire line. Construction started in June last year. This year The underwater acceptance was completed in early July.
"The earthwork excavation volume is about 2.2 million cubic meters, and there are also 3 bridges, 4 embankment culverts, and 2 electric irrigation stations." Zhuang Yaohai, on-site management director of Changzhou Xinmei Water Co., Ltd. said.
The Xinmeng River extension and dredging project is a major national water conservancy project and the largest single investment water conservancy project in the province. The total length of the river in Changzhou is 87.23 kilometers, accounting for about 77% of the total length of the river, involving New Taipei, Bell Tower, Jintan, WujinIt covers 14 towns and 78 villages in the four districts, with a total investment of 9.762 billion yuan, including river dredging, embankment filling, bridges and water system adjustment projects. It is the most intensive construction project in the history of Changzhou's water control. The first bid section completed in New Taipei District will also be the first to be integrated with the river chief system to provide long-term management and protection to protect the "landscape" and "functionality" of the Xinmeng River.
Wang Bin, deputy director of the Benniu Water Conservancy Station in Xinbei District, Changzhou City, said: "We are planning to build another green belt outside the river to improve the management and protection of the river. The three-level river chiefs must work together to manage the Xinmeng River."
Since 201 Since the construction of the southern section of the canal and the first batch of bridges started in August 2018, the Xinmeng River extension dredging project has completed 2.2 million cubic meters of earthwork in the south section of the canal. Nine of the first batch of 12 bridges invited for bidding have been completed. The erection of box beams and supporting water systems have completed the construction of the East Incline Middle Ditch and Nanyang River Gate Station. The northern section of the canal [has also been fully launched recently, involving a total of 18.53 kilometers of river dredging and 3.28 kilometers of new river channels. Some tender sections will realize emergency water supply by the end of 2019.
