Many people must have heard the story of Jay Chou and Wu Zongxian's Maxima Bole. In fact, rather than saying that Wu Zongxian is a Bole, it is better to say that he is an old fox who has plotted against Jay Chou from the beginning to the end. To put it bluntly, Wu Zongxian looked down on Jay Chou from the beginning, mainly because Jay Chou had a diaosi temperament. Wu Zongxian, who has always been a judge of appearance, considers talent and good looks to be indispensable.
In 1998, Wu Zongxian hosted the show "Super Rookie King". 19-year-old Jay Chou was signed up by others without knowing it, so he reluctantly sang on stage. But at that time, Jay Chou was too shy and did not show his greatest charm, so he was eliminated. He thought that he didn't want to participate in the first place, so he planned to pack his bags and leave. Unexpectedly, a song I wrote fell to the ground halfway and was picked up by Wu Zongxian who was passing by. He immediately felt that Jay Chou was a malleable talent, so he approached Jay Chou after the performance, hoping that he could join his Alpha Company. At this time, Jay Chou was so moved that he had nothing to say, but Wu Zongxian did not want to focus on Jay Chou, and just asked him to start as an assistant.
Actually, when Jay Chou participated in the talent show that he debuted, his performance was quite excellent, and it was not because of the bad reputation from the outside world. Wu Qingjun, one of the judges in the audience, was attracted by Jay Chou's talent at the first sight. The two parties hit it off privately and started cooperating, and have successively recorded many high-quality music works. When
could officially sign the contract, Wu Qingjun discovered that the other party had already signed a contract with Wu Zongxian. As a result, when he angrily questioned Jay Chou, he found that the other party was completely unaware. And the confident look on his face doesn't look like a lie at first glance. It wasn't until Jay Chou later realized that when he contacted Wu Zongxian, the other party asked him to sign some small contracts. Only then did Jay Chou suddenly realize that the so-called contract between him and the other party was hidden in these inconspicuous little clauses.
The deal is done. Jay Chou has only two options at the moment. One is to file a lawsuit with Wu Zongxian and win the lawsuit before signing a contract with Wu Qingjun. The other is to admit defeat and follow Wu Zongxian. Of course Jay Chou wants to take the first route, but spending a lot of time in litigation is tantamount to a waste of his youth, which is extremely detrimental to his music development. Wu Qingjun understood Jay Chou's thoughts, and with a regretful attitude, he tore up the contract prepared by the two in front of Jay Chou.
Before Jay Chou became famous, Wu Zongxian looked down on Jay Chou. When he first joined the company, he planned to release an album, but Wu Zongxian thought his music style was too fast and could not keep up with the trend of the times. He showed the songs written by Jay Chou to the king-level stars, but they were all rejected without exception.
Although Jay Chou writes songs very quickly, not many people can sing the songs he writes until Yang Junrong appears. After hearing Jay Chou's " Cute Woman ", Yang Junrong was overjoyed and started planning to release an album for him. Jay Chou found Wu Zongxian and said that he wanted to release an album. Yang Junrong even patted his chest and promised that as long as he gave himself 20 million in promotional fees, he would be able to make Jay Chou a success. Wu Zongxian didn't take it seriously at this time, thinking that Jay Chou looked like a ghost, and he also wanted to debut as a singer, right? So I planned to make things difficult for him and made a perfunctory agreement. As long as you can write 50 songs within ten days, I will release an album for you. In fact, Wu Zongxian's original intention was to let Jay Chou retreat when faced with difficulties, but he didn't expect that Jay Chou actually did it.
As a result, Wu Zongxian began to deny it, saying that finding an arranger was a time-consuming and labor-intensive task. Before he could finish speaking, Jay Chou said without hesitation that I could arrange the music for myself. In fact, according to Wu Zongxian's original thoughts, even if Jay Chou really completed the arrangement, he might not really be praised because he couldn't understand the songs Jay Chou wrote. But for the sake of face, Wu Zongxian reluctantly agreed to let Jay Chou release an album.
In 1999, Jay Chou really wanted to own a supercar. Wu Zongxian told him that as long as his album could sell 300,000, he would give him one as a gift. Unexpectedly, the first album released at that time became a hit and sold 500,000 copies, and also won the Golden Melody Award for Best Newcomer. Wu Zongxian began to deny it again and only drove him a supercar for a month.
In 2001, at the Golden Melody Awards ceremony in Taiwan, Jay Chou ignored the past and specially thanked Wu Zongxian, claiming that without him, he would not be where he is now.
In 2002, Wu Zongxian's company had problems, so Wu Zongxian "sold" Alpha Company together with Jay Chou for 20 million in order for his company to survive the crisis. Just when he thought a man who looked like a ghost wouldn't be popular for long, Jay Chou's fourth album sold 3 million copies. A few years later, Jay Chou became famous all over the country and became a superstar with a net worth of tens of billions.
At this time, Wu Zongxian was filled with regret. When he appeared on the show, he joked: "I sold my company in 2002, and even Jay Chou was in the pack, so I sold it. Then he became a superstar. What a hell."
In 2015, Jay Chou married Kunling , and a total of three weddings were held. All the acquaintances he could invite came, but his benefactor Wu Zongxian, who had supported him all the way, was missing. For this reason, Wu Zongxian shouted to Jay Chou from a distance, which was to embarrass him.
The two of them have never been seen interacting in the same frame since then. It was not until 2019 that the two of them interacted on social media and broke the ice. The past few years of getting along also proved that the two people did not have much kindness except for the kindness of knowing each other. Jay Chou rarely mentions Wu Zongxian, because in his opinion, Yang Junrong is his real talent, and the relationship between him and Wu Zongxian is just a matter of interest.
